adapted for use in school rooms.
One is a reversible map, with the
United States and Canada on one
Bide; ahd the hemispheres on the
other. This map shows our world
Completely, and is repine with
explanations. The other map
shows Georgia entirely, giving
correctly all the counties, cities,
towns, railroads, depots, rivers,
creeks, etc., in most minute detail.
These maps are emphatically first-
class in every particular.
—A prominent Houston farmer
created considerable mirth at his
own expense in Perry last Satur
day afternoon. When ready to
leave town, he drove his horse up
in front of a store on Carroll street,
and called out to the clerk in
charge of the store: “Mr-^ ,
pleas2 hand me that sack of corn.”
The sack was a paper affair, but j
the prying eyes of a bystander
discovered something suspicious
about it, and when & jug was re
vealed, the farmer was somewhat
confused by the loud laughter to
which the citizens present gave
expression.

Dear Journal: “Are you done
planting com?” is fee question
among the farmers now, but I
guess it will soon be over with,
for they are nearly done. A good
crop of coin has been planted this
year, I think.
Mr. Editor, I have had the shin

I tell you they came very near get

of that, Mr. Editor?
I know your mouth will smack
when I tell you we have been eat

radishes; but where id we get
them?. They were given tons by
the kind wife of Mr. H. Stafford.
I wonder why it ii that Mrs.

An investigation of some of these
matters should be had, and not be
left in this shape.
The jail has cost the county a
good fortune already and still the
cry is “more, more;” §20*000 in 12

that. Better hire Bibb county to
keep the prisoners, or have hired
guards and hold them wife the
