Happy New Tear!
Father Time is swiftly ushering out. the year
1899 and just as swiftly ushering in 1900. In
many respects Lhe year 1899 has been a re
markable one. Although continued droughts
have caused short crops, still the big advance
iu the price of cotton has helped the farmer out
of debt and will enable him to start the New
Tear with a clean sheet. We are undoubtedly
upon the threshold of an era of prosperity.
I want to again thank my friends ter- the pat
ronage of the past, and assure them that my
best efforts to merit their patronage in the fu
ture will be put forth.
Wishing all a Happy Hew Year, and peace, plenty and
prosperity in 1900,1 am
‘ Yours truly,
