and Mrs. H. W. English, of Powers-

ing little Fannie. She had been con
fined to her bed three weeks with
scarlet fever.
Fannie Bussell was five years and
one month old, and was the light of
her home. All was done for her that
loving parents, relatives and three
skilled physicians could do, but God
took her to rest.
The remains were carried to Wells-
ton, where the burial took place at 2
o'clock Thursday afternoon. She was
laid to rest by the side of her little
sister Maude. She will be missed
by her loving parents. But God

Last Wednesday night the angel
of death came along and took Fan
nie English, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. EL W. English, to join her lit
tle sister Maude. They are together
now, little angels singing praises to
God, who gave them and who has
taken them away. Fannie was a
bright child, a favorite with all her
people, especially her Grandfather
Watson. He was exceeedingly fond
of her she being the first and oldest
grandchild; it was a great trial for
him to give her up. Mr. and Mrs.
English have the sympathy of their
many Mends in the loss of their two
little daughters.
Mrs. Susie Langford and son, af
ter visiting her mother, Mrs. S. W.
Allen, of Powersville, left Tuesday
W. B. DuPree. This, together with
the new postoffice, adds greatly to
Kathleen’s prestige.
Mr. C. A. Backley, the justly pop
ular depot agent here, still* looks
melancholy. Mrs. Backley will be
home in a few days, however; then
we hope to see smiles on the hand
some face of our brother citizen.

George Harris, who lived on Mr.
J. H. M. Cliett’s place, has been ad
judged a lunatic. The negro seems
to have gone crazy on religion. A
few days previous to his arrest he
was coming through the country
from Macon to Powersville, and
stopped at Mr. — Hudson’s house.
Mr. Hudson not being at borne, the
negro compelled Mrs. Hudson to
feed him, and afterwards made some
improper proposals to Mrs. Hudson,
wh:», with her little children, began
to scream and run, the negro follow
ing them. Fortunately there were
some gentlemen near by who heard
the screams of the lady and hasten
ed to her relief. They caught the
negro, and when about to tie him he
broke loose from them and made his
escape. Had he not escaped, no
doubt he would have been hanged
to the limb of a tree, as the husband
and brother of Mrs. Hudson came
up soon after.
[The negro mentioned above was
adjudged a lunatic in Houston court
of Ordinary last Monday. Ed.]

Time has demonstrated that the Thrice-
a-Week World stands alone in its class.
Other papers have imitated its form but
not its success. This is because it tells
all the news all the time and tells it im
partially, whether that news be political
or otherwise. It is in fact almost a daily
at the price of a weekly and you cauuot
afford to be without it.
Republican and democrat alike can
read tho Thrice-a-Week World with ab
solute confidence in its truth.
In addition to news, it publishes first-
class seriel stories and other features
suited to the home and fireside.
The Thrice-a-Week World’s regular
subscription price is only $1.00 per year
and this pays for 156 papers. We offer
this unequalled newspaper and The
Home Joursai, together one year for
§2.00, strictly cash in advance.
The regular subscription price of the
two papers is $2 50.
