The quarterly meeting convened
at this place last Saturday, Rev. J.
B. McGehee presiding, Bro. Joel T.
Walker recording secretary, Miss
Maggie Rentz organist. Bro. Mc
Gehee occupied the pulpit in the
forenoon. He preached one of the
best sermons we ever heard him de
liver—plain, practical, pointed and
touching. After services everybody
was invited to take dinner, which
was in abuundance and well served.
On Sunday Rev. B. E. Whittington
of Perry expounded the gospel for
us, with Mrs. Maggie Ellis as or
ganist. His text was 116th Psalm,
12th and 13th verses: “I will phy
my vows unto the Lord now.” Bro.
Whittington handled his subject
with eloquence and force. Perry
ought to feel proud of her pastor
and no doubt is, and I must say he
made a favorable impression among
our people.
The cotton crop in this section is
about harvested. The roundlap balle

Miss Mattie Miller says she has a
full attendance at school, and every
thing is progressing nicely. We re
gret to learn that Miss Mattie will
not teach for us another term, and
will say that we give her up reluc
tantly, but commend her to wherev
er she may be assigned.
I have just been informed that
Master Ainsworth Riley died this
evening. Truly a good boy has paid
his vow. Will give particulars of
death in my next.
The following were visitors to our
place during quarterly meeting: Miss
Alma Anderson of Macon; Misses
Duke and Beck of Bonaire; Miss
Maggie Marr, Mrs. Hodge and Jack
Hodge of Henderson; Mdms. Henry
Brown, Shinholser, Susan Means, J.
T. Mims, Susan Buff, and Miss El-
