Cable dispatches from London,
says the Atlanta Constitution, de
clare that the mayors of fifty repre
sentative cities of the United States
will be invited to attend the corona
tion exercises of King Edward next
June. Of course Atlanta^will be of
the fifty, and in response to an in
terview, Atlanta’s mayor has already
declared he cannot go. Nothing
like being in time.
Montezuma people will be enliven
ed with a street carnival next week,
from Tuesday morning to Saturday
night. About a dozen attractions
other than the local displays will be
presented, and the management in
tend that there shall not be a dull
moment during the five days. The
railroads will give special round-trip
passenger rates.
A special committee from the
House and Senate will report on all
proposed amendments to the consti
tution of the state. This work well
done will prevent the holding of a
constitutional convention.. Georgia
don’t need such a convention.
