Mr. H. E. Talton is probably the
wheat king of our section. While
there are some who plant more acres
and make more bushels, I know of
none who are making it more profit
able. He has gathered four suc-
Prompt^attentionj^iven^ to repairing | cessive crops of wheat from the
same land, and the yield has been
increased each year. As soon as he
cuts his wheat the land is planted in
corn and peas, which puts it in good
shape for another crop of wheat.
This patch of six acres produced
this year 17 bushels of wheat per
acre, and was then planted in corn,
making 120 bushels of good, heavy
corn. If there is another six acres
in this section doing as well the
owner is keeping it a secret.

which under the soft mellow
lights caused the old-maids’hearts
to quicken as there had been a
marriage the day before, where
one of our spinsters changed her
occupation, ceased to be a spin
ner, and is now a Weaver. Our
best wishes go with, her even
though she left us in despair-
Those who added dignity to the
reception on this occasion were
Mrs. W. J. Moore, Mrs. B. C.

Mrs. L. M. Paul.
Wo feel that these matrons are
