After the hardest rain of the
“An Afternoon In Germany."
The “Kaffee Klatsoh” whioh
was given last Thursday after
noon, by Miss Corinne Baldwin
to Miss Rogers, would have dona
honor to Prince Henry himself,
on his visit to to America.
It was a rainy, disagreeable af
ternoon, and a" stranger, noting
the eager feet and radiaut faces
of those who hurried to Miss
Baldwin’s home, might have
season, Friday night and early thought that no less a personage
Saturday morning, the sun shone
out warmer and balmy to-day,
causing the crusty back lizzards
to crawl out, the birds to sing
and the good people to attend the
beautiful Easter services at the
Henderson Methodist church to
day. Your brilliant correspon
dent from that point will, no
doubt, tell you of the ekercises in
full.
Road working has been very
much the order of the day in this
section lately, and some of the
best work we ever saw done. Our
people are not kicking about the
road fclaw, but fully appreciate
good roads and are going ahead
doing their best to put them in
shape. The Mossy Hill, Hender
son and upper Montezuma roads,
worked by Messrs. J. H. Wimber-
E. B. and 0. B. Till deserve
special mention for the splendid

whioh dimmed the eye at the
thought of separation from the
fair guest of honor, who soon is
to go on a pleasant trip to Cali
fornia.

grounds and had it at night. The
insisted I should join them
the hunt, so we got right into the
game and downed them all. But
time is up.

Hill to-day with friends.
Mr. Feltz Irby was among the
visitors on the Hill Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Eubanks
were out horee-back riding over
the Hill last week.

Mr. Oliver McElhaney of

Marriage Near Hattie.
A pretty home wedding was sol
etnnized at the residence of Mr.
and Mrs. E. W. Leaptrot Sunday
that I evening, March, 80th, when their
daughte, Miss Lena, was given in
marriage to Mr. W. E. Johnson.
The beautiful home was filled
with friends of the bride and
groom, and as the clock struck
other I eight, the wedding party marched
into the parlor, which , was deco
rated to suit the occasion. First
came Miss Mattie Lou Thompson
of Hattie, with Mr. Eldridge In
gram of Byron; next Miss Ida
Stembridge of Hattie, with Mr
Ivey Leaptrot; then the bride
and keep every I leaning on the arm of her maid
1 of honor, Miss Lizzie Ammons of
Minetree, Ga.; then the groom
with his best man, Mr. Geo. Head
of LaVilla, After taking their po
sitions, the ceremony was impres
sively performed by Mr. J. D
Cherry of Dunbar, Ga.
TheJbridelJis one of Hattie’s most
accomplished young ladies and
we regret very much to see her
leave.
The groom is a successful young
farmer of Minetree, and is to be
complimented for winning such
lovely bride.
Miss Lena was becomingly at
tired in a gown of white organdie
and carried a bouquet of white.
The bride’s maids wore lovely
gowns of pink and carried bou
quets of pink.
The presents were pretty and
useful. •
We wish the happy couple
long, happy and prosperous life.
