School is progressing nicely,
and, if it were not for the lack of
desks, would be well equipped.
We hope by this means to raise
money to supply the room for the
spring term. Though the pupils
have not now the opportunities
for doing their best work, they
are doing well; but we expect,
with the addition of desks, to see
better results and to have them
more strikingly illustrated.

“The biggest is not always the
best,” said Mr. R. L. Fermenter
the other day, with reference to
the store wherein the Fermenter
Shoe Co., began business about
six weeks ago.
Mr. R. L. Fermenter, who has
control of this store and business,
has been in the shoe business thir
teen years in Macon. Five years
with gRoff Sims & Bro.; then five
years with E. B. Harris & Co
and then manager and buyer
the Macon Shoe Co.
While in business with others,
Mr, Permenter demonstrated his
thorough knowledge of the shoe
trade, and became well-known to
a wide circle of customers.
Iu beginning business on his
own account, he proposes to share
with his customers the benefits of
his experience. He says the first
month of his new business consid
erably exceeded his expectations
While handling all grades, he
makes a specialty of medium and
cheapshoes. Though full of shoes
his store is small. He is his own
salesman, No heavy rent and
clerk hire expense must be added
to the price of his shoes, there
fore -he propsses to sell at lower
prices than other dealers.

ers to call and see him at 463

Superior Farming.
This is an ago in which superi
ority pays better than it over did.
The highest results are no longer
by accident, but by superiority.
In dll trades and professions it is
the quality upon which is built
the highest achievement and the
greatest ( profits. The superior
preparation of the soil with im
plements constructed for the pur-
posi, followed by cultivation on
up-to-date lines, will do much to
offset unevenjweather conditions,
assuring better crops and a supe
rior bank account.
Now is the time to prepare the
soil for another year’s crop, and
we trust our readers will take up
the subject of superior implements
