The Baptist Meeeting.

Perry, Thursday,
Last Saturday obout 35 bales of
lew cotton were received at the
two warehouses in Perry.
According to grade, the cotton
was sold at 11^ to 12 cents per
pound.
A Houston farmer sold in an
other market at 11 cents the same
day.

Mrs. Williams, wife of Dr.
Williams, died at their home in
Bonaire last Sunday night, after
a protracted illness that extend
ed back several months.
The body, accompaniedjby sev
eral friends of the family, was
carried to Bolingbroke, her for

Mrs. Williams was a most ex
cellent lady, an exemplary Chris
tian much loved by aU who knew
her.
The devoted husband, children
and other ..near relatives have the
heart-felt sympathy of their
many friends.
—Cotton picking is the regular
order of farm work, and the sta
pie is opening rapidly. It is gen
erally believad that it is best to
sell the first picking as soon as
ginned, but there are many who
say they will hold their cotton
should the price decline to 10
cents or lower.
-—Last Friday Mr. W. L. Chap
man of near Myrtle brought to
this office a stalk of cotton that
contained many caterpillars on
the leaves. He was fearful that
the worms would do great dam
age. We hope the advanced sea-
| son will prevent such injury.
—The fair buildings just com
pleted at Armory Park are 20 by
34 and 30 by 54 feet respectively.
The carpenters are continuing
the tyork, and in amide time the
pens, stables, fence, entrance and
show ring for horses and cattle
will be completed.
Bids Wanted.
On or before the first Tuesday

struction of wooden bridges over
Bay creek and Mossy creek will be
received by the undersigned.
