Death of Rev. J. H. Cline.
At 4 o’clock last Thursday
morning, Bev. J. H. Cline died
suddenly at his home in Byron.
While visiting in LaGrange
abouii three weeks ago he was
stricken with ^paralysis, and
though confined to tho house
since his return home, he was
thought to be recovering. Just
before his death he called to his
Dr. G, P. Cline, who was
son,
living in the same house, but
when the doctor reached his *ath
er he was dead.
Mr. Cline was about 65 years
of age, a Baptist minister, and
had been a school teacher in
Houston, highly esteemed in
whatever avocation he engaged.
Surviving him are the devoted
wife, five sons and two daugh
ters.
The bereaved ones have 'the
sincere sympathy of their many
friends.

We can’t say Sunday School
any more for this year, as it has
become cold weather, but Oh!
how sorry we are to have it stop,
for it was one of the best schools
that. Houston afforded. It was
interesting to both old and young,
and was a good place to keep
young people out of bad compa
ny, but we hope, however, they
can now realize the good of a
Sunday School, and, meet next
year early to begin their same
good works. I must say that ev
ery olass worked very faithful as
there was a beautiful present
promised to the best attendant,
but of course there was some kept
away by sickness and other things
which they oould not help. Miss
Mary Lee Bedding won tne beau
tiful present in the bible class,
whioh was presented by our super
intendent. Master Willie Wat-
sou won a beautiful book, “The
Mexican Bauch” presented by
Ais teacher, Miss Susie Jones.
Several other presents were given
but the writer doesn’t know who
won them.
Bev. Bassett filled his regular
appointment here Sunday, and a
good lesson it was.
Mr. Ed Felder of Unadilla vis
ited this place to-day.
Mr. Homer Watson of Emerich
attended preaohing here to-day.
Mr. John Green Fitzgerald of
Unadilla visited this place to-day,
and attended preaching.
Miss Susie Jones of Taylor’s
Ford visited friends in Perry last
Wednesday and attended the
fair.
Mrs. Philips has returned home
after quite a long visit to her
daughter, Mrs. Williams.
Mrs. Jerry Thompson is able to
be up again. We hope for her
great improvement.
