—Mrs. P. H. Skellie spent two
days in Fort Valley last week, and
Judge Skellie was with his relatives
there Sunday.
Preliminary to a series of protract
ed services at the Perry Methodist
Church, collage prayer meetings are
conducted by iadies, and are for ladies
only this week.
Next week there will be a service
each night at the Methodist church,
conducted by thu pastor, Rev. M. F.
Beals.
Beginning the second Sunday in
June, Miss Emma Tucker, of* Enter
prise. Fra., will have charge of tho
services, which will extend through at
least two weeks. Tlmre will be two
services each day, morning and night.

for themselves whether they will
have electric lights. The election for
bonds will,be held on July 1st.
—Mr. Rob’t C. Holtzclaw of
Atlauta visited his parents and other
relatives in Perry from last Friday
evening to Saturday afternoon.
—Mr. Clem Smathers, wife and
child of Wayneville, N, (J., were the
guests at the home of Maj. R, N.
Holtzclaw last Friday and Saturday.

hoped for.
If the people are ready and willing
there will bo a genuine revival in re-
ligeous thought and action.

Perry Monday two trout that weighed
Si and 6 1-2 pounds respectively. He
caught them ut Lakeside with hook
and line that morning.
—Mrs. S. W. Burch and son,Clyde,
ot Milen. who have been visiting her
parents, Mr.Jand Mrs. A. F. Barfield,
returned home Sunday, accompaiued
by her sister, Miss Mamie Barfield.

BOND ELECTION ORDERED.
Arrangements are being made for
the people of Perry to let their light
so shine that all who who come this
way can see the excellence of our en
vironment, and thereby be constrained
to abide with and grow in impor
tance with our excellent little city.
Official notice is this day published
that an election will be held on the
first day of July next to determine
whether $6,000.00 of election bonds
(Shall be issued to establish q,nd equip
an electric light system at Perry.
It is practically .certain that the
bond issue will be authorized.
It is also confidently believed that
citizens of Perry will buy the bonds.
When those lights shine on our
streets and in our homes we will Bee
better in more ways than one.
We certainly need more light.

churches aud all Baptists within the
hounds represented. Mr. Clarke fill
ed his regular appointment at the
Baptist church here last Sunday,

—Rev. M. F. Beals will preach at
Andrew Chapel on tho first Sunday
in June at 11 a. m. and at Kathleen,
in the school house at 7:30 o'clock.
This charge has been made because of
the meetings at the} Methodist church
in Perry, which begin on the 2nd
Sunday.
