(dfTV SCHOOLS OPEN SEPT. 19TH “The public Schools of Houston County wil'l open on Sept. 19th 1921. Th 0 £° ar d °* Education de cided it would be hotter to open little earlier than usual this fall, so that the schools will close a little earlier in the Spring to be out of the way of Peach season. I take this oppertumty to in vite the cooperation of the pat rons in helping the Board of Education and the Superintendent to make schools of Houston Coun ty as successful as possible. I please let us remember in these trying times that what we spend for school purposes is all spent and kept right here in the State but the money we spend for Automobiles and many other thing, goes out of the State never to return. It does not even bring the ‘Pound’ back, but the money spent ou Education will bring back many Pounds. Yours Bespectfull, M. C. Moseley. TO VOTE FOR WATER AND LIGHT BONDS. Responding to the urgent need of improvement in the water and light systems of the city and the aomplaint of the citizens against the present inadequate systems the Mayor and City Council have called an election for Water and Light Extention Bonds for Octo ber 17th. The bond issue is necessary to raise funds for the needed improve ments, bonds being the most effi cient method possible and the least burdensome to the tax payers of the city. The issue calls for a total of $15,* 000. $12,000 for Water Works Extejition Bonds for the improve-, ment and extention of the present system, a large part of which will be u >ed for the construction of a filtering system, which will insure at all times an adequate supply of pure water, free from all the ob jectionable elements now so much complained of. $3,000 is for improvement and extention of the Electric Light System. It is believed that the bond is sue metts with almost unanamous favor of our citizens and no trou ble is anticipated to carry the elec tion on the 17th. Legal notice of the election appears in this issue. Thorough bred Rhode Island Bed cockerels for sale, bes strain drop postal for reservation. R. E. Dunbar Jr., Byron E. F. Evans manager of the Gibson-Snow Company, the well-known wholesale druggist, with branches in Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, recently announced that tho preparation was now selling in their trade territories alone at the pheno menal rate of approximately 500,000 bottles a year. “If the present rate continues,” said Mr Evans, “this state alone will probablv require consider ably over 750,000 bottles a year. This is a tremendous figure, but I am really conservative in mak ing this statement.” “Tanlac is sold by leading drug gists everywhere. ’ ’ ' Advertisment.
