Strand Theatre. PROGRAM FOR THE WEEK. THURSDAY SEPT. 29. Realart Presents MARY MILES MINTER -in- “The Little Clown.” The Little Clown is a real honest to goodness circus with lions, ele phants, bears, coyotes, monkeys, pot to mention the famous trained goose “Mike” Its a beautie. Children and grown people will be delighted. ~ FRIDAY SEPT 30. William Fox Presents BUCK JONES -in- “To A Finish.” A wild and wooly entertainment, with a slight love interest, ending in a most spectacular fight. Jones puts plenty of pe'p in this picture. Don’t miss it. SATURDAY OCT 1- Paramount Presents ENID BENNETT -in- stepping Out.” The picture is an interesting drama with considerable comedy spark ling comedy throughout. The cast includes such well known players as Julia Fay, Niles, Welch, Ger trude Clair and Williams Conklin. If you desire a clean innocent pic ture for your children to see, let them come Friday night. “The Little Clown” will most interest ing and pleasing to all* ATTENTION. Berry’s Cafe is now open to the public, connected to the Berry House. We invite the people of Perry and vicinity to come in and give us a trial, we are here to serve you the best meals at reasonable prices. SUPERIOR COURT NEXT WEEK Houston Superior Court will Convene next Monday October 3rd for its regular Fall session. Tbe first week will be devoted, to trial ef Oivel Case and the work of the Grand Jury. There are 50 Civel cases on the Calendar all set for trial, Monday October 3rd, though it is doubtful if the Calendor can be completed in one day. Up to this time there are thirty four worrents to be presented to the Grand Jury. The followng are jurors who will serve during both the Civil and Criminal week’s of this session of court. Humphreys was regarded as a leader of his race, in this section having dp- voted the greater part of his life in tne work of school, church and other agencens for the betterment of his people. He was a teacher in this county for 45 year* , a great part at which was in the negro school at New Hope.
