Tlio Tax Receiver having filed his digest for the year 1921, tho Court proceeded to levy a county tax for the yoar 1921. Tlie aggregate value of the taxable property of Houston County ou the digest of 192t is $6,284,655.00 It was thereupon .ordered that a tax of four-tenths of one per cent, or four mills, be levied upon all the taxable property of Houston County, on the digest and not on the digest, for a road fund to be used for working and maintaining the public roads of Houston County, It was further ordered that an additional tax of ten-tenths of one per cent, or ten mills, be levied upon all the taxable property cf Hous ton county, on the digest and not on the digest, for all the several purposes for which the law' authorizes and directs comity authorities to levy taxes, said tax of ten mills to be levied for and divided among the several county purposes as follows: 1st.—To pay legal indebtedness of the county due, and to become due and past due.. 6 per cent, 2nd—To build and repair courthouses and, jails bridges andferries, and other public improvements, according to the contract, 74 per cent, 3rd- To pay sheriffs, jailers and other officers fees that they may be legally entitled to out of the county,.. .4 per cent. 4th—-To pay coroners all fees that may be due them for holding inquests, • 1 per cent. 5th—To pay the expenses of the county for bailiffs at court, non-resident mitnesses in criminal cases fuel, servant hire, stationery and the like, .4 per cent, 6th—To pay jurors a per diem compensation, 5 per cent. 7th— To pay expenses incurred in supporting tho poor of the county, and as otherwise prescribed by the code, 1 per cent, 8th—To pay any other lawful charge against the county 5 per cent, Total,........ 100 per cent. The Board of Education of Houston county having recommended the following tax for a public school fund for the year 1921: It was ordered that a tax of five-tenths of one per cent, or five mills, be levied upon all the taxable property of Houston county, on the digest and not on the digest, outside the corporate limits of perry and Fort Volley, to supplement the public schools fund apportioned to all of of the Houston county, except said corporate limits of Perry and Fort Valley. The Bord of Trustees of the Byron consolidated School District having recommended the following tax for a public school fund for said district for the year 1921: It was ordered that a special, school tax of four and onehalf tenths of one per cent, or four and one-half mills, be levied upon all the taxable properly of the Byron consolidated School District of Houston county to pay interest and provide a sinking fund, to pay for $20, 000.00 of school bonds, for said district.
