A reservation attached to our
international treaty is positive
proof that more politics than states
•manship has been used.
That the success of the $75,000,"
000, 00 road, bond issue will serve
to decrease rather than increase
taxation in individual counties is
the statement made by the
Georgia Good Roads Association,
which points out three icisois
why this is true, and why there
should bo universal support of
the bond' plan
According to the Good Roads
Association, counties that have
already voted bonds and built
their portions of the §tate system
will have such amounts refunded
to them out of their portion of the
bond money. These refunds may
be used in retiring county bonds,
thus reducing county taxes. Ap
proximately one hundred and
twjenlynine counties in the state
will receive a refund under this
provision.
Counties that have not yet done
any work on their portions of the
statKi system will have the roads
built for them by the state, out
of the bond money, at no cost to
the couniy.
Then, since alb state roads must
be maiutainod at slate expense,
counties are relieved of a heavy
maintenance burden on what have
heretofore 1 been their most
expensive roads to keep up. This
slate maintenance alone will have
the effoct of reducod taxation, and
will enable every county in the
state to keep the other roads in
its bowlers, in better shape with
the released funds.
The bond plan is growing in
favor all over the state, as it is
recognized as the soundest and
most economic way of financing a
big uq lortaking in whioh the
whole skate shares benefits. X
Air pianos and ships have been
msed by U. S. authorities to pre
vent the illegal shipment of whis
key into Georgia at Savannah and
other points. ? .
Certainly Georgia farmers will
improve their farming and increase
their production this year.

some of the passengers were going

Possibly this inoident may be

It is said a defective wheel caus

Once upon a farming center
where all hazards seem to

With no money and no lender,

And old Ruben hollowed, Hello!

With his whip he tried to render

Eagerly Rube wished the mor

All the time he kept repeating, is

Presen tly my soul grew stronger

Surely she will tote a mortgage
