bers of the Board of Education,
succeeding Messrs S G Rogers and
VV B Sims, resigned.
An interesting feature of the
election was the number of women
who voted. Of 128 votes cast, 81
were voted by women. Thesucees-
ful contestants for council won by
a majority of 21 votes.

PERRY HIGH SCHOOL NOTES.
Only one more week and one
more month before vacation. So

Everything up at P. H. S- is all
ket up over tho district meet to be
held in Fort Valley next Friday
and Saturday. Everybody looks
forward to a good time for a dis
trict meet is where fun abounds,

guaranteed a good, time. At a
preliminery meet held at the school
house last Friday the following
boys were selected to represent P.
H. S. in athletics; Hal Gilbert,
Jake Murray, Eugene Beckham,
Wyatt Kersey, Equnet Rainey, and
George Riley Htint. In expres
sion we are represented by Lucile
Beekbam, in music by Dollie Kate
Poole and in declamation by Har
ris Hardison. If we don’t take
some first places, sevenal seconds
and a few thirds something will be
wrong.
The invitations and memory
books ordered some time ago by
the senior class have arrived. As
one member of the senior olaes re
marked; “Graduating is fine and
all that but it sure does cost a lot ”

BRIDGE PARTY.
A delightful event of Saturday
afternoon was the informal bridge
party, with which Mrs. Holt Skel-
lie entertaiued.
In the room where the card ta
bles were placed, a profusion r.f
roses were used artistically as dec
orations.
A delicious salad course with tea
was served by Mrs. G. W. Winn
at the conclusion of the game
