noon with a rook party in honor
of Misses Marjorie Day of Abeville
Ala-, and Mary Diskell of Sparta.
The young girls playing were,

school.
The Perry school has made
steady progress during the past
few yeans and the stage is set this
year for the continued progress
despite some handicapp that yet
to be overcome.
The school this year will be in
charge of a competent faculty, a
number of whom are new but all
highly recommended, and a most
successful school year is antic
ipated. Members of the faculty are

E. J. Forrester, D. D. L, L, LX, of
Sparta, Ga., will lecture on the
Bible. Dr. Forrester was for
many years Professor of Bible at
Mercer University and comes to
us with many yeals of study and
experience. This is a rare oppor
tunity for a church to have two
choice speakers for that length of
time. Every body invited to at
tend thesJ lectures.

Mrs A. F. Smith entertained
the teacher’s and officers of the
Perry Baptist Sunday School last
Tuesday evening at a lovely in
formal affair at her suburban
home just west of Berry.
The house was beauliflly deco
rated with roBes and other fall
flowerB, and planning the S, S.
work for Piomotion Day which
will soon be a special day in our
ohurch, a biblo contest wae
entered into a>nd thoroughly
enjoyed.
it has been our pleasure before
to be guests in this hospitable
home and each occasion proves
more delightful. X
CHARLES H. THOMPSON DEAD
Mr Charles H Thompson age
about 70 years died at his
home near Bonaire Saturday
August' 27th after an extended
illness, Funeral services were held
at the Bonaire Methodist church
Sunday afternoon. The paul-
bearers were selected from the
Masonic fealonarty of which he
a prouiinant member and the
Masons had.charge of the services
at the grove. A large number of
Perry Masons took part in the
ceiemony.
Mr Thompson was well known
and highly respected in this coun
ty where he spent practically ajl
his life, and his death lias eaused
sorrow to scores of friends in this
section. x
He was a widower and leaves no
children. He is survived by two
brothers Chief of Police Martin
Thompson of Macon aiid J, B.
Thompson of South Georgia.
