Georgia, Houston County.
Under and by virtue of the power of
•sale contained in a certain deed to secure
debt executed by Emma Webb to J W
Hodge on the 12th. day of January 1921.
the undersigned J W Hodge will sell at
public, outcrv before the Court Housfe door
of Houston County to the highest bidder
for cash, on Tuesday February 13ih. 1923
between the legal hours of sale the follow
ing real-estate, towit:-.
‘‘All those tracts or parcels of land de
scribed S(i8 follows: A parallelogram
<3i5G feet wide across the extreme west
E art of lot $o. 329 north of Elko, and
lenderson Public Road; also a parallelo
gram 334 feet wide east , and west and
2032 feet wide north' and south in the
south east corner of lot No. 209; also a
small strip just south' Of and of same
width as above in the northeast corner of
lot No. 240 and north of said Public Road
nil of said tracts containing in the aggre
gate 50 acres of land and being in the
13th di-trict of Houston County Georgia.
Also that tract or parcel of land lying
and being in the 13th. district of Houston
County, Georgia, being part of lot No,
329 in said District described,as follows:
A Certain parallelogram 712 feet wide
running from north to south across east
side of lot; also all of a certain tract of
land ip the north part of raid lot adjoin
ing the above described parallelogram,
eominencing at the north line of s'dd lot
No. 329 Vh'ch Treasures 1038 feet east
and west and 1110 feet north and south
excepting nine acres off of the west side
last named tracts which nine acres be
longed to T. P Webb, both of said tracts
lying in one body and containing 07
acres, more or less, same being fully
shown in plat made by C C Andorson,
Civil Engineer, and recorded in Map
Book 1, page 74 in Office of Clerk of
Superior Court of Houston County Geor
gia;
Also 50 acres in 16t No. 209 in saldlBth
district of Houston County Georgia -in
following metos and bounds, begin at a
point on the Public road from Henderson
to Elko 334 feet west of the east line of
said lot; run thence westerly nlong said
road 1366 feet; thence north 1200 feet;
"thence north GO degrees and 45 minutes
east to a point opposite north of beginn
ing ; thence south 2032 feet to point of
beginning and being that tract described
in dee<j from Louis F. Webb, et al, to
Emma Webb, described in Deed Book 22,
page 85, Clerk’s Office,' Superior Court,
Houston County, Georgia.”
. The debt secured by said deed is
evidenced by two certain promissory notes
for the principal sum of $1265.88 each
noth dated January 12th, 1921, each bear
ing interest from date at the rate of 8
per cent .per annum, payable annually
and one due October 1st 1921 and the
other due October 1st 1922. both of Baid
notes hav ng become due and remain ng
unpaid, the power of sqlo contained in
said deed has become operative. The pro
ceeds of said sale will be be applied to
the payment of said debt and the expenses
of this proceeding, and the remainder, if
any, will be paid to said Emma Webb.
The above and foregoing described real
estate will be sold subject to a prior and
superior lien in favor of Scottish Ameri
can Mortgage Company, Limited for the
principal sum of $1000.00 on the afore
said last dosbribed tract of 50 acres, in
lot No. 209, in the 13th. district of Hous-
to County, Georgia, and more fully de-
soribed in deed from Louis F. Webb, et
al, to Emma Webb, recorded' in Deed-
Bpok 22, page 85, Clerk’s Office, Superior
Court, Houston County, Georgia. Said
