The confidence of the commuaity in a bank is its
greatest element of strength.
The strength of our bank is eyjdenped by the confi
dence of its large number of depositors and satisfied
customers, among whom are some of the best men in
the country.
Our directors are composed of the best men in the.
country, who actually direct the affairs of the bank.
Men who have made.a success of their own affairs and
are capable of handling the affairs of the bank on a safe
and Sf und basis.
Our bank is rxamind at frequent intervale by capa
ble auditors sent out by the state (government) who
come without our foreknowledge. We are also required
to make and publish sworn statements of the condition
of this bank at regular intervals- The call for this state
ment cemes to us based ©n certain dates, without our
having any knowledge of when it is coming, hence, we
are unable to “fix” for these periods, even if we were
disposed to do so. In addition to this we are required
by law to carry a certain per cent of our deposits in cash
roserve in order to take care of any emergency that
might arise.

choosed sides and had a good game
of basket ball. We decided to go
on a hike Saturday.
THE HIKE
Some of the boys were to leave
at 6:00 o’clock but on account of
various reasons did not leave un
til 9:00 o’clock. All of the scouts
started at this time. We started
off walking but were overtaken by
Rev- Lord who was bringing Phil
Anderson for ho had a sere leg.
We came to camp, built our.fires
and started to cooking. I think
this was the best dinner the boys
ever cooked on any o* their hikes.
After cooking wo laid around
the fire and talked aud ate. When
our big dinner was settled, three
of th© bo^s set out to make a trail
so Wesley Short might take part 1
of his Second Class test. Wesley
passed ou a good part of his test
while several other boys practiced
using a hatchet- After a little we
went to the car and put our packs
in ib. When tho ride to town was
ended all tho boy’s walked away
saying that this was the best hike
we. have had.
