best. Surely each should realize
that we are considering first
measures, not men to be chief ex

honor of the higest order, and
knowlodge that covers the uni
verse. He should know men as
he ahold know measures, and his
service should bo guided by the
utmost integrity and statesman
ship of the best and most depen
dable character.

Representative Upshaw, of
the fifth district of Georgia, has
been named by Frank J Bachelor
of Georgia as a democratic can
didate for Vice President of
the United States. If prohibition
should be the chief issue, Mr. Up
shaw would be a model candidate.

March 20th to discuss ways and
means of pomoting co-operating.
Farmers of that section areseem-
ingly in thorough accord with
progressive agriculture.
Hon. Clifford Walker, who wifi
become Governor of Georgia on
the first Wednesday in Juue this
year, has already cut out a whole
lot of executive work. He has
determined positively that there
must be something new and very
much better in tax legislation, a
tax law that will be fair to all.
By revision of rating, the Cen
tral Georgia Power Company, will
increase the value of contraction
to $3,000,000 in electrical power.
It is proposed to increase the stock
rating 25 per cent, thus making
the total iu constructive power to
the figures named The case has
been set by the court for a hearing
on May 15th.
