—Miss Theresa Hodges who has
been visiting her parents here for

day for a short visit in Atlanta
before returning to Detroit.
—Little Miss Virginia Lee, who
has been visitirg her graudmother
Mrs Hurst has returned to her
home in Parrott. Little Miss Cloe
Traylor and Elizabeth Gay re
turned home with her. Also Fran
ces Arrington of Ellaviile, joined
in Montozuma and will be with
then for a week’s visit.

day morning when a live wire
caused him to lose his bold and
fall from a telethons pole some
18 fast to the ground. Though the
fall extent of his in juris* have not
yet been determined hie friends
hope they are not so serious as
was at first thought.
With the peach season yet a
week to run a total of 383 cars of
peaches have, beeu shipped from
the Perry station to date. On
Wednesday there were 35 cars on
the track to be loaded which in
dicates that the total shipment for
the season will exceed the total
of last year by thirty or more cars
The estimate of the representa
tive of the Georgia Fruit exchange
is 425 as against 392 cars of last
season.
The movement of Georgia Belles
was completed Tuesday, while
Elbertas will probably continue
through this week with a few left
over for the first of next week.
There will also probably be a few
cars of Hale’s shipped from this
point next weok.
The movement of freight from
Perry has been heavier this sum
mer than has ever been known
here, the record for one day being
surpassed on Tuesday whon 29
cars including 22 cars of peaches,
3 cars of melons, 2 cars of cotton
and 2 cars of lumber were moved.
MRS ROSABELLE ESTES DEAD
Mrs Rosabelle Ulrich Estes age
29, wife of Ollie L Estes of Perry
died at the Oglethorpe Infirmary
in Macon Monday morning at 8:30
o’clock, where she was brought for
treatment about two weeks ago.
Her death while not unexpected is
the cause of much sorrow among
friends here where she has made
her home for the past five years.
She was a concientious member of
the Baptist church.
The body was brought to the
home in Perry Monday at ll
o'clock. 1
Funeral servioes were conducted
at the residenco at 10:30 Tuesday
morning, Rev Cline of the Baptist
church of Unadilla officiating.
Burial was at Evergreen cemetery
The sorrowing husband and
other loved ones have the sincere
sympathy of the community.
KILLED BY SAW MILL

Willie Daniels a negro boy about
19 years of age was instantly
killed at a saw mill operated by
the Moore Lumber Company here
about 4 o’clock Monday afternoon.
In some way he was sought by one
of tha big belts and his body
carried over the pully and thrown
up through the board roof Vith
tremendous force, breaking near
ly every bone in his body. He lost
his life the first day on the job.
The negro was the paper boy in
Perry and was known by most of
ike people; here.
PARTY FOR LITTLE GUEST

Miss Katherine Elvira Ellis of
Grovania and Mr. Walter G Riley
of Parry were married Wednes
day afternoon, July llth, at 5
o’clock at the the Methodist par
sonage, Rev. W K Dennis perform
jug the ceremony. Members of
the families and several friends
of Grovania and Porry witnessed
the ceremony.
Immediately after the man iage
the couple left for Macon by auto
mobile and from there to Savan
nah for a stay of several days.
The bride is the eldest daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Stonewall J Ellis
and the groom the

young pfeople have a host of friends
in this section who extend very
best wishes for happiness and

On their return this week Mr
and Mrs. Riley will be at home to
their friends at the Riley residence

Miss Lula Hurst and lfrs Alva
Davis entertained most delightful
ly Wednesday afternoon from 5
to 6:30 at a lawn party given in
honor of Little Miss Virginia Lee,
who has been visiting her grand
mother Mrs Hurst.
About 40 little girls ahd boys
were invited. Many games were
played, refreshments served on
the lawn completed a happy after
noon. The punch bowl was placed
in a cool shady nook on the vine-
clad porch and proved a happy
place for all to gather after each
game was playefl*
Miss Hazell Lord, and Miss Lula
Hurst served, punch. Beautiful
flowers and ferns decorated the
entire lower floors. X
MONEY FOR VETERANS RECEIVED
The money for the Confedrafe
veterans and widows pensions has
been received by the Ordinary and
is now ready for payment to
those who are elligable.
