GEOLOGIST WILL SPEAK HEAR FRIDAY
Of interest to many friends,par
ticularly in Macon and Perry, is
the announcement of the marriage
of Miss Oma Virginia Rushing
and Mr, Marx Marion KunzJ of
Perry, on the afternoon of Wednes
day August 22, at 12; 30 o’clock,
at the home of the bride's unele
and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. H H Du-
Priest, on New Street.

ies were present.
Preceeding the ceremony, Miss
Julia Goodall sang “God Gave
Yon To Me." Immediately after
which, to the strains of Mendel-
sshon's wedding inarch, rendered
by Mrs. B C Bryant, the couple
entered the living room, where
the ceremony was performed by
the Rov. Martin A Wood, of the
Vineville Baptist church. The
ring ceremony was' used, during
which Mrs. Bryant played softly
“To A Wild Rose.”
The bride who is a daughter of
Mrs. T W Rushing and the late T
W Rushing of Byron, was a beau
tiful picture in her going-away
suit of grey, with hat and acces
sories to match. She carried a
bouquet of bride roses showered
with lillies-of-the-valley.
The groom is a well known At
torney of perry and has many
friends in this section who are of
fering congratulations and best
wishes.
After a wedding trip to Atlanta
and Indian Springs Mr. and Mrs
Kunz will be at home in perry at
their residence on Ev e r g r e e a
street.
Mr. Dandridgo Spbtewood, well
known geologist and mining Engi
neer, will address the public on’
Friday night at the Court House
at 8 o'clock. |
During the past month Mr Spots 1
wood has made a thorough Geo
logical surrey of the region near
Perry, has found mineral deposits
of great value in this section
which he believes will mean great
industrial development in this
peetion in the near futures
Mr. SpotBwood is thoroughly
conversant with the subject he is
fO discuss and is greatly interest
ed in the possibilities of mineral
wealth under the ground here.
His address will undoubteld prove
interesting and instructive to
those who come out to hear him

The regular September mooting

PRIMARY DEPARTMENT ENTERTAINED
Mrs J P Ethridge, Miss Dimple
Killen and Miss Beverly Wallace
entertained the Primary depart
merit of the Baptist Sunday School
with a party last Thursday after
noon.
Because of the rain qnite a
good many of the little folksdiduofc
come, but those who were present
throughly enjoyed themselves.
It was intended that the party
bo held on the church lawn, but
on account of the enclement
w 9 atb6r the Mann building was
used.
After playing the games that
are so enjoyable to children ice
cream cones and lemonade were
served,
All the children expressed
themselves as having a delightful
time and wished for many more
parties. X

Jess Davis and her guests, Misses
Mary Roberson of Marietta, and
Vera Watkins, of Thomasville,
was the bridge party given them
by Mrs. Whit Traylor, Wednes
day afternoon.
An interesting game was played
by Misses Roberson, Watkins,Cin
derella Cooper and Mesdames Tom
Cater, S L Norwood, Jy., and
Whit Traylor.

with tea was served; Mrs. G J3
Andrew coming in for refresh
ments. x
WED IN PERRY
Mrs Maude Knight and O. J.
Jenkins, of Macon, came to Perry
Sunday night accompanied by^Mr
and Mrs. J D Jones, of Bonaire,
and were married at the court
house by Kev. W H Lord, of the
Perry Baptist Church. They re
turned to Macon Sunday night.
Mr- Jenkins’ residence is at 513
Mulberry Street, Macon.
