and enthusiastic meeting at the
lively home of Mrs. James D Mar
tin, last Thursday, Sept., 20lh.
Much important business was
transacted and a good social pro
gram was followed. Tho beauti
ful flag our Regent presented us
with held its first important po
sition designating our meeting
place.

REVIVAL SERVICES AT METHODIST
CHURCH
Beginning on next Sunday
morning at It o'clock a series of
revival services will be conducted
at the Methodist church by Rev.
W K Dennis the pastor.
The other denominations of the
town are cooperating and the
meeting of next Sunday morning
will be in the nature of a union
service.
The services will fee conducted
afternoon and night during the
coming week-
A very cordial invitation is ex
tended to every body to attend
these services.

HOUSTON SUPERIOR COURT TO
CONVENE OCTOBER 1ST
Houston Superior court will
convene for the regular October
term here on next Monday Oc
tober 1st. As is the usual custom
it is understood that Judge H A
Mathews and Malcolm Jones will
alternate in the trial of Civil and
Criminal cases.
Judging from the appearance of
docket the session will be a busy
one. There are 53 civil cases set
for trial the first week and 45
warrents so far to be presented to
the Grand Jury. Four of these
are for murder.
