—Among the improvements in
streets and roads at Perry is the
straightening and widening of
Swift Street at -the Macon Street
corner which was made possible by
tho gift of a small lot by J. W.
Bloodworth to the city. The road
at tlie water tower has also been
widened by cutting a strip from
tho corner of the Methodist church
yard,
Last Thursday evening at eight
o’clock, at the home of the bride
on Swift Street, Rev. W H Lord,
Pastor or the Baptist Church in a
very impressive manner, perform
ed the ceremony which united in
marriage Miss Martha Tharpe and
Mr. Henry Kemper Covington.
In the parlor where the decora
tions were beautiful pink and
white roses, the couple stood in
the presence of a few relatives and
close friends*
The bride was becomingly dress
ed in a one-piece dress of dark
blue poirel twill.
The bride is the daughter of the

The Boy. Scouts of Troup No
Ferry, Ga., held their regular
meeting November 1st 1923.
Coleman Strother was elected

body keep an eye on him and help

ty. They came to his home in
