Announcement of plans for tbe erection of a modern two-story building on the Holtzclaw corner Carroll and Main Street, have just been given out. Dr. H. E. Evans and Mrs. A M. Anderson who re cently purchased the property of the Holtzclaw estate will begin the construction of the new build ing at an early date. According to plans the building will be modern in design and at tractive in appearance, built of brown tapestry brick, with plate glass front and in every way in keeping with a bigh standard of j construction. The ground lloor will be occupi ed by Heard & Evans who will in stall new and up-to-date drujj store fixtures in keeping with the new buildiug. I The top floor will be designed for offices. A suite of four rooms will be occupied by Dr. H. B. Evans and Dr. Lee Evans. Two rooms will be occupied by Dr. H. P. Dobbins as dental offices and one by Mr. S. P. Orowell, Tax Collec tor. A ladies rest room will be lo cated on this lloor and other con veniences provided for the occu pants of the buildiug and their patrons. Entrance to the upper floor will be from the outside on Wall street and from the drug store. The construction work on the buildiug is expected to begin about May 1st and will be rushed to completion. The out-lay for the building complete will amount to about $15,000. C, Watson T. K. MEMORIAL DAY WILL BE OBSERVED SUNDAY. APRIL 26 Memorial Day will be observed in Perry, Sunday, April 26th at Evergreen Cemetery. Exercises open at 3:30 o'clock. An interesting program has been arranged. Mr. Baxter Jones, of Macon, well known and highly honored as one of the Souths most prominent young lawer?, World War Veteran and grandson of Liet.-Col. Isaac Hardeman of the Confederacy,will make the address. The U. D. C. Cross of Service will be presented to Mr. S. b.. A. Nunn, World War Veteran. Children are requested to gather at the Methodist Church and march to the Cemetery with lloral tributes to our beloved Confed erate dead. Dinner will be served .Veterans at the Wells Hotel. All are ur gently and cordially invited to be present. HOUSTON SUPERIOR COURT The Superior Court will con vene on next Monday, the 27Lb. for the trial of criminal cases of which there are 52 on the calendar, all set for trial on Monday, Tues day and Wednesday. The court will probably bs in session for four days. Any civil business will be attended to that is in order. On Monday at the noon recess the ap pearance docket for April Term will be called aud all cases in which no answers are filed will be mark ed in default. The court last week appointed G. L. Small of Kathleen, C. F. Cooper of Ferry and J. W. Hodge of Henderson Jury Commissioners to succeed three of the Jury Com missioners whose terms have ex pired. The Court appoiuted C. G. Sharpe of Grovania, W. A. Strotb er of Perry, and C. B. Watson of Wellston, County Kegistrars for one year beginning with iheir time of appointment. C, Watson T. R. BOTTLING PLANT TO BE IN OPERATION HERE SOON A bottling plant is Perry's latest euterpise, tbe announcement of which has aroused interest here. The Perry Bottliug Company recently organized with Messrs. O. D. aud M. (J. Watson at its head will manufacture aud dis tribute the well known Pepsi Cola drink aud the "Big Rose" soda water. The initial capacity of the plant will be GOO cases daily, aud the distribution of the products will include the Counties of Hous ton, Bibb, Macon and Pulaski. The Watson Brothers are ex perienced in this line having suc cessfully operated a plant in Ma con for some time. The machinery from the Macon plant is being moved to Perry aud a building of Perry Warehouse Company on Depot Street is now being remodeled aud enlarged for the use of the Perry Hottling Co. The new plant is expected to bo in active operatiou within the next ten days. ENGINEER HURT IN PERRY TRAIN WRECK The locomotive and two freight cars of the Central of Georgia and Fort Valley train were derailed last Friday night near Woods Crossing. The engine and tender left the track and were turned over on the side of the embank ment. Joseph Evans the eugineer, was seriously injured as a result of derailment. He was placed on a train and carried to a Macon hos pital. Late reports say he has a good chance to recover. The negro fireman James Math ews was also injured but it is thought not seriously. Spreading rails is said to have been the cause of the wreck. ELKO NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Onie Marshall and small daughter, Dorethy, of Macon spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Eubanks. Mrs. E. B. Davis and son, Ed win, of Byrornville spent the week end with her parentb Mr. aud Mis. J. H. Grace. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Houser spent Saturday in Macon. Mr. Charles Grace Marshall, of Emory University, spent the week end with home folks. Mrs. E. I. Holmes spent a few days in Perry this week asa delegate to the "issionaiy Confer ence from the Elko Woman's Mis sionary Society.
