Part of Holiday Season
N OUtt modern world of today the
I
sending and receiving of greeting
curds has come to be a very vitul
pert of the holiday season, so much
so. In fact, that we can nearly gauge
the number of our friends l>y the
number of curds received. Each year
as the Yuletlde season approaches
millions of these little messages of
love and good wishes travel from one
to another and everywhere mall car
riers stugger under the load of them
which they carry. For while one
Christmas card may not weigh very
much, yet, when hundreds of them are
plied together they make no meuu
weight.
Nowadays there tire special cards
for every member of the family from
grandpa to baby, not to mention those
for sweethearts, friends, etc., and
there are eards for any and all occa
sions. Just as you mid I are recover
ing from the effects of the Christmas
celebrutlons each year verse writers
are working feverishly and racking
their brains for new and catchy sent I
ments for cards for the next Christ
mas season. A really good verye?u
bit of sentiment that speaks the very
thought within our hearts? Is worth u
.small fortune to the manufacturer
that gets hold of It.
It eeems hard to believe In the face
of all this that It 1? only a little
fewer than eighty years ago that the
Hist Christmas card was made and
thot it was as late as the year 1802
when the public first began to scud
out cards and then the custom was
practiced only by the few. I5ut, like
Jther things that supplied a long-felt
iced, the sending of greeting cards
frew by leaps and bounds until, today,
Christmas would not seem like itself
at all without these little messages
from those we love.?Katherlne Edel

Wc tfsed ORCHARD BRAND spray
materials in our orchards this past
seuson. Regarding Dritomic Sulphtir,
we were especially pleased with the
results obtained. We find it more eco
nomical than any other material that
we have ever used to control Brown
Kot, etc. Also using Dritomic we found
that it mix:-s readily, stays in suspen
sion, does not clog spray nozzles and
adds very much to the color of the
fruit. We expect to use Dritomic Sul
phur and ORCHARD BRAND
products again this season.

THE uniform high quality of "Orchard Brand"
Dormant Sprays ? Lime Sulphur Soiution,
Oil Emulsion, B T S, etc.? is an important factor
in your success in dormant spraying. So will be that
of "Orchard Brand'' Bordeaux in the spring. But
the most important of all are the summer sprays:?
Dritomic Sulphur
has definitely established itself as the fruit grower's
most powerful protector against fungous diseases
on peaches, apples, and other fruit. Used from
petal fall or calyx spray time, on. it gives effective
control without injury of fruit or foliage. You can
use it with "Orchard Brand" Ary,enote of
Lead?a combination which gives insect r.nd
fungus control in which you can put the utmost
confidence.
From the fruit growing centers word comes in that
"Dritomic" Sulphur has everywhere proved to be the
most satisfying sulphur spray ever used. Plan, now, to use
it in your orchards next year.
