Sunday. Mrs. McPhaul is improv
ing after a serious illness.
?Mr. Howell Walker, who was
seriously injured in an automobile
accident several weeks ago, was
moved Monday from a hospital in
Jacksonville, Fla. to a Macon hos
pital His condition is still con
sidered serious. Mr- Walker is the
brother of Mrs. J. W, Iilood worth,
of Perry, and he resided here
himself at ono time.
MRS SKE111E GIVES LOVELY LUNCHEON
Mrs. Holt Skollio was hostess
at a lovely seated luncheon Tues
day at her home. The alTair was
given as a compliment to Mrs.
Oscar McKenzie, of Montezuma,
Mrs. James Hays, of Montezuma,
and Mrs. P. H. Jeter, of Decatur.
The luncheon table was overlaid
with a cluny luncheon set and had
for a central decoration a vase of
red carnation?. Quantities of white
narcissi intermingled with fern
were used in the living room and
dining room.
After a delightful four-course
luncheon was served, the guests
enjoyed games of bridge in the
liviug room. The tally cards as
well as the place cards for the
luncheon carried out the coloi
note of red and white. These
colors were appropriately used in
honor of Mrs. Oscar McKenzie,
who is stale president of the U.
D. C.
The guests invited besides the
honorees were Mrs. S. L. Norwood
Jr., Mrs. Whit Tray lor. Miss
Aurelia Cooper, and Mrs. Rocbelle
Skellie.
HIGH SCHOOL SET ENTERTAIN
A delightful affair of Friday
evening was the the surprise birth
day party given by the high school
contingent at the home of Miss
Laura Gilbert to celebrate the
birthday anniversary of Mr. Walter
Evans, high school teacher.
The boys and girls enjoyed
games and proms 'til late in the
evening when delightful refresh
ments were served.
A large birthday cake was the
central decoration of the dining
table. Surrounding this were
presents for Mr. Evans, end each
present had an original verse of
good wishes.

At an enthnsastia meeting of the
Baptist Woman's Missionary Union
held Monday afiernoon with Mrs.
George Riley, officers for the year
were cleatcd and committees were
appointed. There vere twenty-five
members present.
An interesting literary program
was given by Mrs. C. P. Cooper,
Mrs. (ieo. Jordan, Mrs. .Lncile
Cooper, and Mrs. George Riley.
After tbe business and program,
Mrs. Riley entertaiued at a de
lightful social hour.
The meetings will be held tho
Monday after the first Sunday of
each month.

is being given this afternoon
(Thursday) by the Perry P. T. A.
at the home of Mrs. George Jordan.
The regular monthly meeting of
the local P. T. A. will be held at
the school building at 3:00 o'clock
Friday afternoon. At this time
plans will be made for entertain
ing the Twelfth District meeting
here Friday, Jan. 21.'A program
of this district meeting will be
published next week.
