gaged in Social Security work,
was transferred last week to
Macon where she will be located
several weeks.
Friends of Mr. and Mrs. J. E.
Story and Miss Joyce Barnes, of
Kathleen, will be glad to know
that they are much improved
after having been ill for ten
days,
Mrs. J. W. Hutchinson has re
turned to her home in Haralson
after spending several days with
her daughte\ Mrs. C. K. Coop
er, and Mr. Cooper at their home
near Perry. She was enroute
from Florida where she spent
the winter.
Mr. and Mrs. John Williamson
and little son, John Thomas,
spent Sunday with Mrs. William
son’s grandmother, Mrs. Brooks,
in Marietta.

mencement at Mercer several
days last week. Miss Smith re
turned to Athens Tuesday after
spending the spring holidays at
home. She will be the member
of a party visiting Magnolia
Gardens during the weekend.
Mr. Walter Wise Holer came
home from Atlanta for the
weekend.
The Legion Auxiliary will meet
Thursday, April 2, at 4 p. m. at
the home of Mrs. E. V. Peed

church Sunday morning and held

“I^rafel”, a biography of Ed
gar Allen Poe, written by Her-
ney Allen, was reviewed by Miss
Louise Rainey, "The Bells,”
one of Poe’s poems, was read by
Mrs. J. L. Beavers. Mrs. W. T.
Middlebrooks reviewed "Safe
Bridge” by Frances Parkinson
Keyes. Miss Olga Thurmond and
Mrs. C. B. Andrew led the dis
cussions of current topics.
Following the meeting the
members were entertained at a
delightful St. Patrick’s tea.
White flowers and greenery dec
orated the dining room. This col
or combination was used in the
St. Patrick details of the dainty
refreshments. Each member’s
plate had a white mint embossed
in green initials of the author of
the book she has reviewed, or
will review.
The hostesses were assisted in
entertaining by Miss Paul’s moth
er, Mrs. L. M. Paul, Sr.
Mr. W. J. Short and daughter,
Mrs. Rex Morris, and grandson,
Rex Morris, Jr., spent Sunday
in Atlanta with relatives.

meeting Tuesday afternoon last i

Skellie, with Mrs.Clinton Cooper;
as the co-hostess. The president, j
Mrs. A. C. Pritchett, presided.
The Orient was the subject of
the afternoon’s study and dis
cussion. An interesting paper
on "Japan” was read by Mrs.
Mayo Davis.
Dainty refreshments, served
by the hostesses, were enjoyed
at the close of the meeting.

Mrs. Sarah A. Smith, of Vien
na. and Mr. William McGee, of
Fitzgerald, were married Friday
at 6 p. m. at the Perry Methodist
church, with Rev. W. P. Blevins
officiating. The couple left im
mediately following the ceremo
ny for a trip to Cuba.

Marshallville, uncle and aunt of
the groom, and Mrs. W. P.
Blevins.
