ELECTRIC MOTOR FIRE
TRIES OUT SIREN
An electric washing machine
motor in the home of Mrs. Irene
Eden, 1001 Washington Ave.,
caught fire yesterday morning
and brought the first sounding of
the fire siren since it was moved
to the new water tower.
The fire was extinguished with
little damage—and the new and
higher location of the fire siren
proved itself very effective for
sending out sound waves which
reach almost every part of the
city with louder effect than
when the siren was on the old
water tank.

The REAL HERO of this story '
is not Humphrey Bogart . . . It’s

in the land.
This is the story of the double
listed D. A. the underworld label
ed the Enforcer ... a man who |
matched bullet for bullet with the ;
nation’s most barbaric band of
“killers for hire.” This is the j
screen’s first story of the dynasty !
of death merchants that sold
murder for a price . . . and the
law’s country wide killer-hunt
that finally destroyed their evil
empire.—Adv.
Georgia farmers are finding it
advisable to make infestation
counts often during the next few
weeks to determine boll weevil
