Mrs. H. B. Lewis and Mrs.
Lewis Tabor were joint hostesses
last Thursday afternoon at a tea
in honor of Mrs. Dewey N. Whid
don, a recent bride.
Fifty guests were invited to
meet Mrs. Whiddon. Miss Mildred
Greene and Miss Betty Ann
Smith presided at the punch
bowl. Miss Pauline Lewis assist
ed her mother and Mrs. Tabor in
serving.
SISTER HONORED
BY MRS. LAWSON
Mrs. Hugh Lawson was hostess
last Thursday morning at an in
formal party in honor of her
sister, Mrs. Quillian Smith. 12
neighbors of Mrs. Smith were in
vited to meet her. Mrs. Lawson
was assisted in entertaining by
Mrs. James Duggan.

guest of her brother, Ernest, and

Mr. and Mrs. O. T. Parker an
nounce the birth of a daughter,
to be named Ruby Joanne, July
12 at Dr. Kay’s clinic at Byron.
Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Murray and
son, Harry, spent their vacation
in Carrabelle, Fla.
Miss Barbara Ann Wills spent
several days last week in Fargo,
Ga.
Beverly Jacobs of Perry was
the guest last week of her grand
parents Mr. and Mrs. J. W.
Jacobs.
Pfc. Benny Wills and Roy i
James of Camp Gordon spent the
weekend in Bonaire as the guests
of the G. B. Wills family.
Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Talton Sr.
motored to Macon Sunday to see
Mr, and Mrs. J. J. Inland.
Mrs. J. E. Sasser is spending
this week in Norfolk, Va. as the
guest of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Stitt.

Mr. and Mrs. Cooper Etheridge

for Savannah to attend the an
nual convention of the Georgia
Press Association at the DeSoto
Hotel in Savannah. They will re
turn Sunday or Monday.

children are moving into their
new home this week.
Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Bentley and
son, David, of Washington, Ga.,
were guests .of the J. T. Perdues
last weekend. Mrs. Henry Sutton

ing at the New Perry Hotel from
a fall in which she suffered a
fractured arm.

Linda Strickland, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. George Strickland,
of Miami, Fla., and granddaugh

is recuperating at her home in
Miami. She will be able to go to
school in the fall. It was found
that she did not have infantile
paralysis.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. F, Johnson
and children, Billy and Kathy
of Endicott, N. Y., arrived Sun
day to spend several days with
Mrs. Johnson’s mother, Mrs. W.

Jr. and family, at Colonial Beach,
Va.
Mrs. J. R. Meeks returned
home this week from Macon Hos
pital where she underwent an
operation for appendicitis.
Miss Jerry Hill left Perry Sun
day for Atlanta where she will
make her home. An employee of
Houston Drug Company here, she
has accepted a position with the
Citizens and Southern Bank in
Atlanta.
Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Rainey and
children, Jimmy and Derrilldene,
of Cordele, visited Misses Florine
and Aubrey Rainey last week.
Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Hane and
John Keitt Hane 111 of Charles
ton, S. C., arrived Saturday for
a visit with Misses Florine and
Aubrey Rainey.
The Rev. and Mrs. James M.
Teresi left Tuesday for Colonial
I Beach, Va., to visit their son,
J. M, Teresi Jr. and family. They

Mrs. W. B. Roberts is spending
two weeks with Mr. Roberts at
Ocilla, where Mr. Roberts is on
a construction job for Tolleson
Lumber Co.
Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Mayo left
Friday for a vacation trip to
Florida.
Mrs. Betty Arnold spent last
week in Quitman visiting Mr. and
Mrs. T. C. Burnett and Bill King
and her son, Jimmy, who is
spending the summer with the
Burnetts.
Mrs. Lloyd turns ot Tucker,
Ga., is visiting her sister Mrs.
C. K. Cooper and Mr. Cooper.
Miss Jeanne Pierce is visiting
Mrs. W. M. Davis in Marietta.
