SALE OF LAND
Whereas, heretofore on Novem
ber 28, 1951. James Harris, also
known as Jim Harris, did execute
to C. C. Chapman a certain secur
ity deed to the following described
property:
“All that tract or parcel of land
| lying and being in the County of
Houston, State of Georgia, and in
the village of New Hope within
the city limits of the City of Perry,
known and designated as Town
Lot A-B-C-D according to a plat
of same made by Rhodes Sewell.
Surveyor, on August 5, 1946, and j
recorded in Map Book 2, page 125,
Clerk’s Office. Houston Superior
Court. Said plat is hereby made a j
part of this description by refer
ence thereto. Said lot is further j {
described as being 58 feet on the (
east line, 58.5 feet on the west line,
1(H) feet on the north line and 100 ,
feet on the south line. Being
bounded on the north by lot form
erly belonging to Owen Gorman,
and now owned by Johnnie Gor
' man. on the east by lands of Mary '
Bass, on the south by land of Tony
; and Mary Lizzie Styles, formerly
belonging to E. I). Howard, and
on the west by land of D. H. Smith.
| Said land is known as a part of
j the Champions of Distress lot. Said
: land is also a part of that prop
erty conveyed to Mary Bass from
Home Builders, Inc. by deed of
I record in Clerk’s Office, Houston
i Superior Court, and is the same
property in Book 67, page 236,
| said Clerk’s Office.” and;
Whereas, said security deed was
j given to secure a note of even date
therewith, for $2,602.33, all as
| shown by a security deed recorded
i in the Office of the Clerk of llous
-1 ton Superior Court in Deed Book
72, page 474, and
Whereas, the said note has be
come in default as to principal and
interest and the undersigned, C.
C. Chapman, elects that the entire
note, principal and interest, be
come due at once;
Now Therefore, according to the
deed and the laws in such cases
original terms of said security
made and provided, the underslgn-
j ed will expose for sale to the high
est and best bidder for cash the
above described land, after prop
!er advertisement, on the first
Tuesday in February, 1953, be
tween the legal hours of sale be
fore the Courthouse Door in Hous
ton County, Georgia. The proceeds
from said sale will be used first to
the payment of said note, princi
pal. interest and expenses, and the
balance, if any, delivered to the
said James Harris.
