YOUR COOPERATIVE OWNERSHIP
Your electric cooperative is a non-profit, locally owned and locally controlled en
terprise.
It is impossible for your cooperative to tell exactly what it will cost to operate in
any given year. To be on the safe side, it collects from you and your neighbors a lit
*
tie more than it will take to meet operating costs. The amount you pay over and
i
j above actual operating costs Is YOUR CAPITAL CREDIT. It is in direct proportion
to your patronage for each year.
These amounts cannot be refunded to you until certain long-term obligations to
the Rural Electrification Administration have been met.
i
I
i .
YOUR CAPITAL CREDIT STATEMENT IS EVIDENCE TO YOU THAT:
1. You receive service at cost.
*
|
2. Any payment made by you above aelnal cost of service is credited to your account
for eventual refund to you.
3. These amounts are being used by your cooperative as capital to replace the loan from
REA.
»
4. Your Cooperative is financially sound.
5. You have a definite share of ownership in your locally owned and locally controlled
cooperative.
