Where do 14 million Americans go to save?
Americans save in lots of places. But a
definite and very important trend is now
taking place: Every day, more and more
people are opening savings accounts in
insured Savings and Loan Associations.
In fact, Americans are now putting more
of their savings account dollars in these
Associations than anywhere else I
There are several very simple reasons why
this is so:
ONE—Your savings earn excellent returns.
You make money because the Associations
invest most of their funds in sound, steady
paying home mortgages.
TWO—You enjoy complete safety. Your
savings are protected by good management
and substantial reserves. They are insured
up to SIO,OOO by the Federal Savings and
Loan Insurance Corporation—an agency

They give friendly , prompt and convenient
service.
And here’s another way insured Saving*
and Loan Associations can be a big help
to you; When you’re thinking of buying a
home, remember that they make liberal
mortgage loans. What’s more, they sec to
it that you get your money quickly and at
moderate rates.

3 Young White Men
Held for Molesting
3 INegro Families
Three young white men were
charged with rape and burglary
this week following an investiga
tion by Sheriff C. C. Chapman of
a weekend spree of drinking and
violence May 21-22.
The men were accused of as
saulting a Negro woman at a farm
house near Kathleen after forcing
her husband at gunpoint to leave
the house.
The men were identified as Billy
Hutton, 20, and Thomas Hutton,
22, both of Warner Robins, and
Robert O. Odgers, 19, Birming
ham, Ala. Billy Hutton and Odgers
are sailors, Sheriff Chapman said.
At the first home they visited,
the sheriff said, the three men as
saulted a Negro woman. At an
other house, one of them shot at a
Negro, March Davis, but missed.
They then forced their way into
the home of Willie Bryant, shot his
wife, Beatrice, with a .45 caliber
pistol and stole Bryant’s shotgun.
The three men were arrested
i after a two-week investigation by
the sheriff, the Georgia Bureau of
Investigation and the Macon and
Warner Robins police depart
ments.
