MISS MARGARET LAYMAN IS MARRIED
TO CHARLES HAMBRICK AT HENDERSON
Miss Margaret Layman, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Layman,
and Charles Hambrick, son of Mr.
and Mrs. A. R. Hambrick of By
romville, were married Dec. 28 at
4:30 p. m. at the Henderson Me
thodist Church.
The impression double ring ce
remony was performed by the pas
tor, the Rev. James Calhoun. A
beautiful setting was formed by a
background of Smilax Boston fern
and other grennery, with a single
large sunburst of white chrysan- j
them urns, candelabras held white I
candles, which were lighted by
Clyde Layman Jr. and Charles Ca-j
to.
The couple spoke their vows be-1
fore an arch covered with smilax
and wedding bells at the center.
Nuptial music was played by
Mrs. Paul Hodge of Leslie, and
Rev. Carlton Reid of Leesburg,
sang I Love You Truly, before the
ceremony, and at the conclusion of
the wedding, The Prayer Perfect.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride’s beauty was enchanced
by her wedding gown, ballerina
length of white taffeta. It had a
fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline
and long pointed sleeves. The full
skirt had Chantilly lace with seed
pearls and rhinestones. Her elbow
length veil of Chantilly lacc held
to a cap set with seed pearls and
rhinestones made by the bride.
She carried a white Bible, mount
ed with white rosebuds and cen
tered with a white orchid. She
wore her mother’s pearls.
The bride chose as her matron
of honor, her sister, Mrs. Clinton
Wilson of Ahtens, Tenn. Brides
maids were Miss Beatrice Sherriff
of Bonaire, Mrs. Mitchell Ham
brick of Marshallville, sister-in
law of the groom, Mrs. W. EL
Stewart of Perry, sister of the
bride.
They were gowned alike in bal
lerina-length of gold colored re
versible taffeta, designed with
close fitting bodice, with round
neck and quarter-length sleeves.

the skirt. They wore headbands of
matching material set with seed
pearls, and carried cascades of
bronze cymbidum orchids, pom
poms mums and matching rain
bow ribbons. They wore strands of
pearls, which were gifts of the
bride.
The groom chose as his best
man his brother, Mitchel Ham
brick o f Marshallville. Usher
groomsmen were Clyde Layman
Jr. of Henderson, Clinton Wilson
of Athens, Tenn., Charles Cato of
Warner Robins, Earl Layman of
| Henderson.
A reception was held after the
ceremony, at the home of the par
ents. The bride’s table had a cover
of white ruffed net over white
I satin fastened at intervals with
bows of white satin ribbon and I
j bells in center. The 5-tiered cake
i iced in white and light green, and
topped with bride and groom, was
in center, silver candelabras lied
with white ribbon and surrounded
! by tiny white rosebuds.
The home was decorated with
| magnolia foliage nandina berries
and white carnations and fern.
Assisting in entertaining and
serving the guests were Mrs. Ray
Schultz of Athens, Tenn., Mrs. Sam
Sherriff of Bonaire, Mrs. Earl Lay
man, Mrs. B. H. Newberry Sr.
Mrs. Virginia Bryant of Hender
son, Miss Anna Robinson of Ma
con.
Mrs. Richard Murch of Hunting
ton, New York, sister of the bride,
kept the bride’s book.
Mrs. Layman wore a navy dress
) with a hat in matching and white
| accessories.
j Mrs, Hambrick wore a grey dress
with a hat in matching and black,
■ accessories.
During the reception the bride
changed to a suit of spice brown
wool and white accessories. Her
i' corsage, was the orchid lifted
1 from the wedding bouquet.
. 1 The couple left for a wedding
* j trip to points of interest in Flori-
da.
The couple will reside near
Henderson. The bride is employed
at the Perry Manufacturing Plant.
The groom is employed at Walker
Oil Co. of Marshallville.
Mr. Hambrick entertained mem
bers of the wedding party and ad
ditional friends with a dinner Dec.
27. Covers were laid for 20.
Out of town guests were Mr.
and Mrs. Ray Schultz, Mr. V. J.
Owenly, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Wil
son and daughter, Ellen of Athens,
Tenn.; Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Murch.

day afternoon, Jan. 8, at the home
