For Scholarships
The Houston County Chapter of
The National Foundation announ
ced today that, with less than one
month to go before the deadline
for filing applications for its 1959
Health Scholarships, no Houston
county young people have applied
for scholarships in nursing, physi
cal therapy, occupational therapy,
medicine and medical social work.
All applications for four year fi
nancial assistance in these fields,
amounting to a total of $2,000 per
student, must be received by The
National Foundation, 800 Second
Avenue, New York 17, N. Y., by
May 1.
The March of Dimes scholar
ships, physical therapy and occu
national therapy are being offered
to high school seniors; those in
medicine and medical social work
to upper classmen in college.
Brock is Honored
At Young Harris
Bobby Brock, a freshman at
Young Harris College, has recent
ly been honored by invitation to
join the Spat Club.
The Spat Club is an organization
composed of thirteen of the most
outstanding young men on cam
pus. Membership is based on the
high moral, spiritual, scholastic,
and social attributes of their ev
eryday campus life.
Bobby is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
F. L. Brock, 1342 Parkway Drive,
Perry. He is a graduate of Perry
High School.
