Because of default in the pay
ment of the indebtedness secured
by that certain Deed to Secure
Debt, executed by Thomas C.
Blackmon, of Houston County,
Georgia, to Aiken Loan & Securi
ty Company, a corporation organ
ized and existing under the laws
of South Carolina, dated February
5, 1960, and recorded in Deed
Book 148, pages 601-604, Clerk’s
Office, Houston Superior Court,
the undersigned has declared the
entire amount of said indebted
ness due and payable in accord
ance with the terms of said deed
and the note secured thereby, and
pursuant to the power of sale con
tained in said deed, there will be
sold by the undersigned at public
outcry before the courthouse door
in Perry, Houston County, Geor
gia, on the first Tuesday in July,
1960, same being July 5, 1960,
within the legal hours of sale, to
the highest bidder for cash, the
following described property, to
wit;
All that lot or parcel of land,
situate, lying and being in Land
Lot No. 191, Fifth Land District
of Houston County, Georgia, being
known as Lot 16 in Block “B” ac
cording to re-subdivision of a por
tion of Lewis Highlands Addition

survey thereof prepared by Theo

Southwest District 4-H Members
Complete Project Achievement Meet
ROCK EAGLE—Southwest Dis- (
trict senior 4-H Club members
completed their Project Achieve- 1
ment meeting last night and mov
ed out this morning to make way
for those from the Northwest.
All of those in the group of just
more than 200 from the Southwest
District were here trying for a
chance to represent their district
at the State 4-H Congress in At
lanta in August. They were all
seniors.
Junior and Cloverleaf county
winners from the Southwest will
compete for the district title in
their projects at Americus on July
21. This separate achievement
meeting for the younger boys and
girls—those under 14 —is being
held closer to their homes so they
will not have so far to travel and
to allow more parents to watch
them in action, District Agent W.
A. King said.
Voting delegates from the 26
counties in the district elected a
new slate of officers yesterday af
ternoon.
Susan Eddy of Bibb County was
elected president.
Other officers who will serve
with Miss Eddy during the coming
year are Claude Davis of Houston
County, boys’ vice president; Glo
ria Dollar of Grady County, girls’ |
vice president; Mary Moody of
Clay County, secretary-treasurer; 1
Fred Brown of Taylor County, par
liamentarian; and Mike Tabb of
Baker County, reporter.
Luther Waller of Early County
was elected district leader.
Four-H members from the
Northwest District wound up this
year’s district project achieve
ment meetings Thursday and Fri
day. They are expected to bring
a larger number of competitors 1
than any of the other five districts
which have been here during the 1
past two weeks.

day of July, 1960, before the
Courthouse door in said county, to
the highest and best bidder for
cash, and at public outcry, the
following described property;
All that tract or parcel of land
lying and being in original land
lot No. 215 in the Lower Fifth
| Land District of Houston County,
i Georgia, and being known and dis
| tinguished as a building lot No. 6
in the David F. Pike Subdivision,
and being a tract fronting 100
feet on what is now known as
Oak Avenue, and extending back
in even width a distance of 115.45
feet to the lands of J. O. Jacobs.
Said land also described by refer
ence to a plat of survey of said
subdivision as appears of record
in Plat book 2, page 69, in office
of Clerk of Houston Superior
Court, said County, to which re

room, all furnished, as a part of
said property, and with all other
improvements thereon.
The maker of said deed to se
cure debt having made default in
the payment of the monthly in
stallments due under said deed to
secure debt, and having also failed
to secure and maintain the fire
insurance to cover said improve- 1
ments and contracted for in said
deed, and (he holders of said deed
to secure debt having declared
the whole of the balance of said
debt due and payable. Sale to be
held in compliance with the con
ditions as expressed in said deed
to secure debt and the note se
cured thereby.

Methodists Plan
Summer Program
A summer recreational program
for Methodist youth has been an
nounced by Miss Joyce Lee, edu
cational assistant of the Perry Me
thodist Church.
The Intermediates, under the di
rection of Miss Lee, began their
program with a progressive din
ner party last Wednesday. The ap
petizer was served by Mrs. J. R.
McNeill, the salad by Mrs. L. C.
Walker, the main dish by Mrs.
Gardner Watson, and the dessert
by Mrs. W. S. Gray.
i Yesterday the Intermediates en
joyed a swimming party at the
I home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
I Norman.
The seniors, counciled by Bob
] by Tuggle, will meet every Tues
day for their summer recreation.
Thus far, they have participated in
bawling and putt-putt entertain
ment and a swimming party.
A new group, consisting of the
older members of the Methodist
Youth Fellowship, has been form
ed under the leadership of Mrs.
i Robert McNeill. Meeting on Sun
day nights for study and during
the week for recreation, this group
age is from 17 to 23.

Herbert C. Boyt, USN, of Route 2,
Perry, Ga., is serving aboard the
attack aircraft carrier USS Shan
gri-la conducting underway train
ing at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
The Shangri-la recently joined
the Atlantic Fleet after a 14,000
mile journey around South Ameri
ca from her former homeport of
San Diego, Calif.
The “flat-top” will remain in
Cuban waters until the end of
July, when it will return to its
new homeport of Mayport, Fla.
