Group Entertained
By Mrs. Marshall
Mrs. W. E. Marshall entertained
with a series of coffees at her
home during the holidays.
Beautiful Christmas decorations
were used throughout the home.
The dining table was overlaid with
a winter green cloth and was cen
tered with a tall green Christmas
candle nested in greenery and sil
ver balls.
About 40 friends were invited
for coffee on Tuesday afternoon,
Thursday afternoon and Friday
morning of last week,
Mrs. John C. Wilson returned
Tuesday to her home after a
week’s visit with her children, Mr.
and Mrs. James E. Nefflen of Ar
lington, Va. While there, Mrs. Wil
son made the acquaintance of a
new grandson, James Elliott Nef
flen Jr. who arrived on December
23. Mrs. Nefflen is the former Miss
Ruth Wilson.

have returned from a trip to the
west coast of Florida. One spot
of especial interest to the Drews
was the Sarasota Jungle Gardens
where they saw flamingos and
other rare wildfowl roaming
freely. Other points of interest
in the Jungle Gardens were
hundreds of unusually colorful
tropical plantings, huge royal
palms bordering the trails and
brilliant macaws and cocatoos
which posed with the visitors for
pictures.

Twelve members of the Perry
Home Demonstration Club met
Tuesday at the home of Mrs.
Thomas L. Starnes on Riley Street.
The meeting was presided over
by the president, Mrs. Jack Pitts,
who gave inspiring thoughts on
the New Year. Mrs. H. M. Penning
ton gave the devotional.
The demonstration “How Does
the World Look to You?” was cen
tered on Health and Family Life.
Mrs. T. L. Starnes and Mrs. J. C.
Heller presented a skit on Medica
tions.
During the social hour, a deli
cious salad plate and coffee was
served. Mrs. Zelma Foley was wel
comed as a visitor.
