That certain lot, tract or parcel
of land, situate, lying and being
in the sth Land District of Hous
ton County, Georgia, in the City of
Warner Robins therein, being a
part of Lots Nos. 2 and 3 of the
South half of Commercial Circle,
a plat of the South half of Com
mercial Circle being recorded in
Map Book 2, page 81, Clerk’s Of
fice, Houston Superior Court. The
said parts of Lots Nos. 2 and 3
being more fully described as fol

COMMENCING at a point in Lot
No. 3 on the south line of a curve

straight line along the west line

the aforesaid curved street. Said

20 foot alley and on the west by

Septic Tanks Falls,
Hurts Bonaire Boy
Prentice Upshaw, 16-year-old
son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Upshaw,
Route 1, Bonaire, who was injur
ed on April 8 in Warner Robins,
when a septic tank fell on him,
expects to be dismissed from Hous
ton County Hospital this week.
The youth was helping his bro
ther, H. L. Upshaw and Raymond
Steele load the septic tank on a ;
truck at the Steele home when
the tank slipped and fell to
the ground, pinning the boy be
neath it.

Conducts Meeting
The Clinchfield Home Demon
jstration Club met at the home of
Mrs. Joe Borders Thursday night,
'with Mrs. G. L. Hulsey as co-hos
tess.
The president, Mrs. S. W. Fisher,
called the meeting to order and
Mrs. W. I. Snyder, family life
chairman, gave an inspirational de
votion from Norman Vincent
Peale’s book, You Can Win, after
which the minutes of the last meet
ing were read and the roll called
by the secretary, Mrs. Z. T. Houser
Jr.
The new home agent, Miss Helen
Brown, was welcomed. Mrs. W. J.
Tyson, incoming president was
nominated as delegate to attend
State Council Meeting at Rock
Eagle in June.
Some points were given by Mrs.
Clarence Davis, gardening project
chairman, on the growing of straw
berries. Mrs. Joe Borders reported
on the District meeting held at
i Roberta. Twenty-two members at

W. J. Smith Jr., Houston County
Dress Revue contestant, placed in
District and will go to State Coun
cil in June.
Mrs. Allen Stone introduced Mrs.
George B. Wells Sr. who brought
a most interesting demonstration

Colas were served by the hostesses
to 17 members and one visitor.
Luncheon Honors
New Home Agent
Mrs. S. W. Fisher, president of
the Clinchfield Home Demonstra
tion Club honored Miss Helen
Brown, Houston County’s new
home agent, with a luncheon Tues
day, April 11.
A most delicious menu was ser
ved, it being the same that Mrs.
Fisher was to cook in the District
Poultry Cook-N-Test in Americus
April 19. The executive board of
the club composed of Mrs. W. J.
Tyson, vice president; Mrs. Z. T.
Houser Jr., secretary; Mrs. L. M.
McCormick, treasurer; Mrs. Joe
Borders, nutrition chairman; and
Mrs. Sirah Lawhorn, reporter,
were invited to join Miss Brown on
this delightful occasion. Beautiful
aprons were given the guest.
Meeting Conducted
By Perry HD Club
The Perry Home Demonstration
Club held its regular meeting on
April 4 at the home of Mrs. J. F.
Holley.
The meeting was opened by the
club president, Mrs. Jack Pitts. An
inspiring devotional on His Last
Words was given by Mrs. Charles
Rogers.
The new county home demon
stration agent, Miss Helen Brown,
was introduced by Mrs. Sirah Law
horn.
Mrs. Pitts appointed a nomina
ting committee composed of Mrs.
C. P. Gray, Mrs. P. B. Horton and
Mrs. Sam Beckham. The president
also gave a demonstration on Flow
er Arrangements.
Eleven members and one visitor,
Mrs. Lawhorn, were present at the
meeting.
A delightful social hour was en
joyed at the conclusion of the
meeting.
Ronnie Davis Hurls
No-Hit Ball Game
The Perry High School bsaeball
team was rather successful last
week, winning both games played.
The first victory was a 5-1 tri
umph over Warner Robins with
Ronnie Davis doing the pitching
for the Panthers and the game
going into extra innings.
The second victory was a 7-0
shutout over Hawkinsville with
Lee Martin as pitcher.
Monday, the baseball team be
gan what is hoped a march to the
State Championship as they
swamped Collins 19-0, behind the
no-hit pitching of Ronnie Davis.
Davis struck out 17 on his way to
a no-hitter.
The track team was not so lucky
as they bowed to the Rams of
Willingham. However, they made
their best showing of the season.
Dr. Claude Purcell, state school
superintendent, started as teacher
of a one-room school, with 57 pu
pils, 11 years later as county super
intendent, gave a diploma to one of
his former first graders.
