The petition of Perry Club Coun
cil, Inc. hereinafter called the ap
plicant shows the following facts:
The principal office of said cor
poration is located in Houston
County, Georgia, and said corpor
ation was incorporated under the
Corporation Act of 1938 on the
15th day of November, 1958.

This petition is brought to amend
the charter of said corporation in
the particulars hereinafter set out.
These proposed amendments hav
ing been favorably voted for and
consented to by the required num
ber of members of said corpora
tion at a regular meeting of same
as shown by the certificate of the
secretary of said corporation at
tached hereto as Exhibit “A” and
made a part hereof.

The particulars in which said
charter is hereby sought to be
amended are as follows, to-wit: ]
A. Paragraph 4 of the Char- 1
ter of Perry Club Council, Inc. !
shall be amended by deleting 1
therefrom the word “benevolent" 1
so that said paragraph 4 as amend
ed shall read:
4. The object and purpose of
said corporation are as follows:
to acquire and administer funds
and property which, after payment
of necessary expenses, shall be de
voted exclusively to promotion of
good citizenship, recreational, ed-

Georgia, and its environs. This or-1
ganization may extend its activi-1
ties to include the coordination of!
appeals for special projects at
state, national or international
levels. The corporation shall be I
empowered to do any and all acts
necessary, expedient, ancillary or
m aid of the accomplishment of
the foregoing.
B. Paragraph 6 of the Charter
of Perry Club Council, Inc. shall
be amended by adding thereto the!
following clause: “in the event of!
any dissolution of this corpora
tion all assets shall be transfer
red and transmitted to the muni
cipality, City of Perry, Houston i
County, Georgia, along with the
directive that said assets shall be
used for recreational purposes by!
said municipality” so that said j
paragraph 6 of said Charter as
amended shall read as follows:
6. No part of the property of
! said corporation and no part of |
its net earnings shall ever at any
| time inure to the benefit of any
.private individual or member. In
| the event of any dissolution of this I
, corporation all assets shall be I
j transferred and transmitted to the
municipality, City of Perry, Hous
ton County, Georgia, along with
the directive that said assets shall
be used for recreational purposes
by said municipality.
WHEREFORE, petitioner prays
that the Charter of said corpora
tion be amended as hereinabove
set out upon a due compliance
with the law in such cases made
and provided.

The Twilight Reading and Sav
ings Club met Sunday afternoon
at 6 o’clock at the home of Mrs.
Susie Jones. The meeting was
opened with a song, followed by
prayer. Refreshments were served
by the hostess.
The Houston County Training
School held their first PTA meet
ing last Monday night. Prof. E. D.
Redmond introduced the speaker,
Mr. Horace Evans, who spoke to
the group on Civil Defense. Offi
cers for the 1961-62 year were
elected. Freeman Roberts was
chosen as president. Refreshments
were served.
Mrs. Beulah Houser and Louise
Johnson of Whipple Street spent a
week in Miami with their sister.
Mrs. Dora Rice and Mrs. Rober
ta Green sponsored a trip for the
Masons Sunday. Everyone enjoyed
it.
Mrs. Annie Mae Fuller of Cin
cinatti, Ohio spent a week in Per
ry with Mrs. Susie Jones and Mrs.
Clerkley.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Goss Sr.,
Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Redmond and
Mrs. Laura Goss accompanied
Lawrence Goss Jr. to Tuskegee In
stitute in Alabama where he is
enrolled as a freshman.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Goss had
as their weekend guests Miss Caro
lyn Lester and Roosevelt Strip
ling Jr.
Mrs. Morrie Kendrick and her
two daughters and friend, Faye
Jones spent Sunday in Unadilla
visiting.
Duncan Ragin is home from the
hospital and doing fine.
Members of the St. James C. M.
E. Choir and the Stewardess Board
wish to express their appreciation
to everyone who helped to make
the Baby Contest successful. The
two babies sponsored were Roy
Hill and Tracy A. Rollins. Tracy
Rollins was winner of the con
test.
Funeral services for Major Irby
were held Tuesday afternoon at
4:30 p. m. at the St. James C. M. E.
Church with Rev. H. P. Golden
officiating. Toomer Brothers Fu
neral Home was in charge of ar
rangements.
Funeral services for Joe Louis
Allen were held Wednesday at
4:30 p. m. at the St. James C. M. E.
Church with Elder Felton Telles,
pastor of the Church of God in
Christ, officiating. Toomer Bros,
was in charge.
Funeral services for Anderson
Wilson were held Wednesday,
Sept. 27, at 3:30 p. m. at the New
Hope Baptist Church in Perry.
Burial was in the Beulah Ceme
tery.
Mr. Wilson, a native of Houston
County died at his home, 1337
Spring St. last Saturday night.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Viola Wilson, a daughter, Mrs. Eu
nice Roberts of Perry, two bro
thers, Connie Wilson of Tampa,
Fla., and Samuel Wilson of De
troit, Mich. Other relatives include
the Freeman Roberts and the Wil
liam Miller families in Perry,
Pierce and Butts Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements.
Funeral services for Doyle Lee
Lane of Elko were held Sunday,
I Sept. 24 at 2:30 p. m. at the Oak
Grove Methodist Church in Elko.
Burial was in Spring Creek Ceme
tery.
Mr, Lane a native of Houston
County died September 21 at his
home.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa
Lee Lane, children, brothers, sis
ters and others relatives. Pierce
and Butts Funeral Home was in
charge.

Ga. The ceremony was performed
by Rev. E. S. Evans at 1015 Mod
eration Street, Perry, Ga.
Miss Carolyn D. Wynn was solo
ist and Mrs. Margaret F. Hill,
pianist.
Curtis H. Hudson, brother of the
groom, was best man.
Miss Dorothy Brumfield, the on
ly attendant, wore a blue silk or
ganza dress with a blue headpiece
and carried a bouquet of pink car
nations.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, was radiant in a white
ruffled Chantilly lace gown with
jacket. She carried a white prayer
book topped with white carnations.
She wore a shoulder length double
crowned veil.
The bridal book was kept by
Mrs. Barbara Timothy.
Immediately following the cere
mony, a reception was given at
1306 Ball Street, after which the
couple left for a wedding trip to
Miami, Fla. Since their return,
they are living at 8-H Enterprise
Homes, Macon, Ga.
