Jack Crutchfield a 'Cool Salesman/
Wins Fine Trip for Self and Wife ;
By the time this edition of the
paper is read, Jack Crutchfield,
Georgia Power Company’s Super
Salesman and his wife will be look
ing at the sights in Las Vegas. |
Jack, along with 60 other sales
men in the state, won the com
pany’s “Sell Cool See Vegas”
contest by outselling anyone else
in the territory. Each salesman
was assigned a specific number of
items to sell during the campaign,
such as air conditioners, refriger
ators and freezers.
Jack’s quota was set at 3,353
points, but in the usual Crutch
field style of doing a job, he went
over the top by selling 10,994,
racked up a score of 327.89 per
cent and won an extra trip for his
wife. j
A list of winners sent out by thej
Westinghouse Company shows
Jack led the Macon Division and
placed fourth in the state.
The group left Atlanta this
morning on a chartered flight via
American Airlines and will re
turn Sunday evening.
While in Las Vegas, they will
be given the royal treatment at the
Riviera Hotel, which incidentally
has its own Olympic swimmng pool
and beautiful golf course. In ad
dition they will be treated to din
ners and floor shows at the famous
Stardust and Sahara Hotels, enter
tained by such celebrities as Steve
Lawrence and Edye Gorme.
On Friday a government guide
will escort them on a planned tour
of the engineering wonder of the
world, the mammoth Hoover Dam.
Jack said his good friends made
the trip possible and while he’s
in Las Vegas he intends to write
each one peronally and tell him
so. If you fail to get a card, just
remember your old buddy Jack is
too busy looking.

YOUR SCHOOL CAN GET THIS

the government no longer needs.

this program, succeeding A. W.

HERE’S HOW IT CAME OUT—
When the dust had settled, here’s
what happened in the “more-fed

both the National Defense Educa

year) and the federally-impacted
areas Public Laws 815 and 874 (ex
pired June 30, 1961) have been
extended for two years. (In Geor
gia, we match Title 5 of NDEA—
which is for testing and guidance
—at the state level, but you match
Title 3 for science, math, and lan
guage equipment there at the lo
cal level.) Question: How are you

Carrie May McElroy, past presi

chairman of a very important

wide problem, too. Why do irvvS?*

she stopped school to “escape from
