Perry ... a honeymoon spot?
The City of Perry was chosen
by Mr. and Mrs. Barry Smith of
Windsor-Ontario, Canada, for
their honeymoon last week.
The newly-wed Canadians
spent about a week in Perry on
their honeymoon instead of go
ing on to Florida, as they had
originally planned.
“We were so impressed with
the town and the friendly peo
ple that we decided to stay on
in Perry, and it has been a
wonderful experience for us,
meeting the nice people here,’’
the Smiths said.
“Southern people and especi
ally Perryans just know how to
be hospitable,” Mr, Smith said.
“The people up north and in
Canada don’t go out of their
way to be nice to you like peo
ple here in Perry,” he added.
Mr. Smith had stopped in
Perry on two previous trips to
Florida, and on both occasions
he said he was thoroughly im
pressed with the friendly Per- '
ryans and the town.
Mrs. Smith said she was im
pressed with the clean appear
ance of the town. “Many of the
towns in the north and in Can
ada, both large and small, are
unkempt and dirty ... not like
Perry at all,” she said.
“We both have fallen in love
with Perry and you can bet
we will be back again,” the
Smiths said.
