The wedding is planned for
August 10 at the Ferry Methodist

Miss Davis will graduate from

Honored
At Parties
Miss Abbie Sue Hunt, bride
elect, was the inspiration for a
lovely seated tea last Wednesday
afternoon at the home of Mrs.
M- M. Dean, with Mrs. Hugh
Lawson and Mrs. Frederick
Fudge as cohostesses.
The home was decorated with
arrangements of garden flowers.
Pink and white was the color
motif used. The individual ta
bles, overlaid with white linen
cut-work cloths, held crystal
compote nosegay arrangements
of pink and white mums and
pink satin ribbons. Featured on
the place cards were individual
silver wedding rings tied with
white satin bows.
A silver teaspoon of her pat
tern w r as presented the honoree
by her hostesses.
The 20 friends enjoying this
delightful affair were served a
delicious salad plate.
Out-of-town guest was Mrs.
Ernest Ginn of Macon, mother
of the prospective groom.
On Saturday Miss Hunt was
honored with a luncheon given
by Mrs. Robert McNeill, Mrs.
Emmit Akin and Mrs. Cooper
Etheridge at the McNeill Home
on Forrest Hill Drive.
The McNeill home was beauti
fully decorated with summer
flowers. Roses and daisies
were featured in the arrangement
on the dining room table. In the
living room compotes held
miniature arrangements of small
yellow daisies and fever few.
Places were set for fourteen
including the mother of the
groom-elect, Mrs. Ernest Ginn
of Macon.
The honoree was presented a
permanent arrangement of tiny
green vegetables in an antiqued
red container planned to go with
her casual china.
Junior Civinettes
Discuss Projects
The Perry Junior Civinettes
held a meeting on Monday, June
3, at the home of Janis Eth
ridge.
The main topic of business dis
cussed at the meeting was sum
mer projects. Among those dis
cussed were: collecting dolls for
the Welfare Office, helping the
teachers with their summer
work at school, and having work
shops for a future project.
The club will meet again on
the first Monday in July.

Having spent 7 weeks in the
Egleston Hospital, Atlanta, we
are most grateful to our friends
and neighbors in Perry for the
many gifts, flowers, cards,
visits and prayers. Such kind
ness and thoughtfulness can

by Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette P.
Langford Jr. of the engagement
and approaching marriage of
their daughter, LaPaula, to
Calvin Andrew Middlebrooks,
son of Mrs. G. T. Pierce Sr.
and the late Mr. J. Paul Middle
brooks of Perry.
Visitor Honored
Miss Marjorie Brown of New
York City, who is visiting her
sister, Mrs. Francis Nunn, was
the inspiration for several social
; events this week.
On. Monday she was honored
with a luncheon given by Mrs. S.
A. Nunn at her home.
Tuesday afternoon she was
honoed by Mrs. Mayo Davis with
a tea at her home.
Mrs. Nunn entertained with an
informal tea at her home on
Wednesday afternoon honoring
Miss Brown.
Miss Brown and her hosts will
be family dinner guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Marion Brown on
' Thursday evening .Joining them
will be another sister, Mrs. F.
R. Pitman, and Mr. Pitman of
Decatur.
Mrs. A. C. Pritchett will enter
tain with,a luncheon Thursday at
the Pritchett cottage honoring
Miss Brown with Mrs. Wesley
Bolin Jr. of Villerica, Mass., and
Mrs. Arthur Brown and Miss
Serena Brown of Sharon sharing
the honors.

of the Francis Nunns on Sunday.

of Sunday, June 30, at Trinity
Methodist Church.
Miss Langford, attractive
bride-elect, is the granddaugh

ford of Waycross and the late
Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Hender
son of Manor.
The bride-elect was graduated
from Waycross High School and
received her B. S. degree from
Georgia Southern College in
1967. She is presently a
graduate student at Georgia
Southern College and will re
ceive the specialized master’s
degree in early childhood edu
cation in August.
Mr. Middlebrooks is the grand
son of Mrs. J. Frank Hunt and
the late Mr. Hunt and the late
Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Middlebrooks
of Perry.
The future bridegroom was
graduated from Perry High
School and received his asso
ciate degree from Young Harris
College. He will receive his B.
S. degree in industrial technolo
gy from Georgia Southern Col
lege June 9.

The Perry Newcomers Club

This will be an interesting meet
ing with a guest speaker giving
a demonstration cn ceramics. All

The summer social of the Del

The musical, “Good News”
will be presented at Green Acres
Baptist Church, Warner Robins,
at 7:30 p.m. today, sponsored
by the Rehoboth Youth Fel
lowship. The bus will leave
Perry First Baptist Church at
7 p.m. The group presenting
the musical comes from the
Sage Avenue and Moffett Road
Baptist Churches of Mobile, Ala.
DeMolay Boys will have a car
wash plus vacuum, Saturday
June 8, at Gray’s Station on
Main Street from 10 n.m. until
5 p.m. for $1.25.

given by her aunt, Mrs. David
Pressley Suber. on May 25 at her
home in Coolidge.
Pink and white was the color
scheme beautifully carried out in
