Miss Cheryle Bullard served as !ier twin sister’s maid of honor. She wore a floor length leim' yellow chiffon dress styl'd with an Empire waist, trimmed with a band of daisies, oval neckline and a slim skirt with matching hat and bouffant veil. She carried a nosegay of Shasta daisies. The bridesmaids, wearing identical dresses, were the bride’s sister, Miss Nancye Bullard of New York City, Mrs. Joe Norman of Perry, Miss Lynn Williams of Waynesboro, Mrs. Bruce Goodson and Miss Miss Sue Skipper of Cochran. Her bouffant veil of French silk illusion was held by a lace and pearl crown and she carried a bouquet of yellow and white daisies surrounding a white orchid. The mother of the bride wore a pink silk worsted dress with matching accessories and carried a white orchid corsage on a small beaded bag. The groom’s mother was attired in pink lace over crepe with matching accessories and an orchid corsage. Following the ceremony the bride’s parents entertained the couple with a reception at the church. The bride’s book was kept by Miss Quids Marie Moody, sister of the groom, who wore a blue and white brocade dress of Empire styling, white ac cessories and a corsage of white carnations. For travelling the bride chose a melon color suit with matching accessories and the white orchid lifted from her bridal bouquet. After a wedding trip to Gat linburg, Tennessee the couple will be at home at Georgian Apartments in Macon. Out-of-town guests includ ed Mrs. Quida Thorpe, grand mother of the groom, and Mrs. B. W. Culpepper, Miss Sharlyn Daniel Honored At Series of Parties Here Miss Sharlyn Daniel, whose marriage to Malcolm Green Jr, of Macon will be an event of Satur day afternoon, June 22, has been the inspiration for a series of parties. On Friday evening, May 24, Miss Daniel was honored with a miscellaneous shower given hj Mrs. Jimmy Connell and Mrs. W, W. Rush at the home of Mrs. Con nell on Lawson Drive. Upon her arrival the honoree was presented a gardenia cor sage. A bride doll and gardenias were used in the attractive dining table arrangement. The gifts were presented Miss Daniel in a large trash can, a cook book was the gift from her hostesses. Twenty-five friends joined them for this affair and were served delicious refreshments. Tuesday evening. May 28, the bride-elect was given a lingerie shower by Mrs. Ellis Jordan and Miss Shirley Clifton at the Jordan home. The honoree was presented a corsage of yellow carnations. A lovely bride doll centered the dining table which held the gifts. Miss Daniel was pre sented a beautiful yellow lin gerie set by her hostesses. Ten friends joined them for the delightful games and the delicious refreshments. On Saturday evening, June I, Miss Daniel was honored with a linen shower at the home of Mrs. L. E. Hicks, with Mrs. Donnie Hicks, Mrs. J. C. Peavy and Mrs. Sallie Peavy as co hostesses. A beautiful corsage of white glads was pinned on the honoree upon her arrival. The dining table, which held the gifts, was centered with a large wedding bell. Miss Daniel was given a beautiful set of green monogrammed towels by the hostesses. Delicious refreshments were enjoyed by the twenty-five guests. A kitchen shower was given in her honor on Thursday, June 6, by Mrs. John Carney and Miss Rita Carney at their home. Upon her arrival Miss Daniel was presented a corsage of yellow mums. Pastel summer flowers and fruits were used in the decora tions and tiny rolling pins were given as favors. Games pertaining to grocery shopping and items which go-to gether in the kitchen were en joyed. The gifts were presented the bride-elect by a grocer man, “Johnny Carney”, attired in white cap and apron, pushing a a grocery cart decorated with vegetables, tea towels and flow ers. The honoree received spoons of her stainless table ware from the hostesses. Twenty-four friends were in vited to this del'ghtful affair and enjoyed a delicious salad plate served by the hostesses wearing gaily printed polished cotton aprons. Mrs. James Batchelor and daughter, Kim, Mrs. Gardner Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Norman, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Logue and Allen Whipple, Jr. The groom’s parents were hosts at the rehearsal dinner on Saturday evening in the Con tinental Room of Holiday Inn in Perry. The three banquet tables held beautiful arrange ments of yellow carnations and snapdragons and Queen Ann’s lace. Guests included members of the wedding party and their families. Malone was appointed District Grand Deputy 1 of District 21 by the Worthy y Grand Matron of Georgia, Order ‘ of Eastern Star, at the Grand Chapter Session in Macon last , week. District 21 includes 10 chapters , in and surrounding Macon, in , eluding Perry. The Worthy Grand Matron, I Helen Roquemore, has as her , projects cancer aid, Eastern Star t Home for Aged, Benevolence, aid to young people going into church j service and a special project for , crippled children. M/ss Brenda Roper Honored at Shower Miss Brenda Roper, bride elect, was honored with a kitchen shower last Friday evening given by Mrs. Tommie Hunt, Mrs. Clifton Athon, Mrs. Ed Wilder, Mrs. Betty Coleman and Mrs. Carolyn Mitchell at the home of Mrs. Hunt on Main Street. The green and white color motif prevailed in the lovely arrangements of garden flowers and in the refreshments. Miss Roper was presented an unique permanent vegetable ar rangement by her hostesses. The gifts were placed on a table in the foyer. Thirty friends of the honoree joined her for this delightful evening affair and enjoyed a delicious salad plate served by the hostesses. Elko-Henderson HE Club Meets The Elko-Henderson Home Ec onomics Club held its regular monthly meeting June 12 in the Agriculture Building. Mrs. C. D, Perfect presided. The pledge of allegiance was re peated by six members and two guests present. The devotional was given by Mrs. C. D. Perfect and in closing she read the touching prayer of St. Francis of Assissi. Mrs. Leo Perfect had the pro gram using the theme “How to think and work,’’ discussing ways to overcome boredom, fa tigue, inefficiency, and to be alert to belter ways to accom plish daily tasks by combating, eliminating and rearranging. Dainty refreshments were serv ed by the hostess, Mrs. L. M. Harrison. MEMORIAL HEIGHTS V.B.S. BEGINS The Memorial Heights Baptist Church has begun its annual V acation Bible School with an opening attendance of 128. Mrs. C. C. Hugh Lawson arrived Mon day from San Francisco, Calif., HE Club Studies Food Additives The Lahoma Home Economics Club met June 13 at the County Agricultural Building with seven members present. After giving the pledge of al legiance to the flag, the members heard Mrs, John Aydlett read “God Is the Answer’’ by Helen Stiener Rice. Mrs. Gilbert Rogers, president, presided during the business session and expressed appre ciation for the knitting lessons Mrs. Watson Fisher had given the club members in May, Mrs. Helen Sasser announced that the Peach Festival would be June 29 in Reynolds and en couraged everyone to enter their favorite peach dish and canned peaches to be judged at the Festival. Mrs. Jesse Willard presented an interesting program on Food Additives, showing boxed foods that had elements added. Hospital Reports Use of Medicare The R. J. Taylor Memorial Hospital in Hawkinsville has released utilization figures for the Medicare and Medicaid pro grams during the first months of operation under the programs. Medicare admissions for the five month period since January 1 , 1968, total 249 patients or 18% of the total admissions. Medicaid admissions for the four month period since February 1, were 37 or 3.5% of the hospit al admissions. Additional patients have been treated under both programs as out patients. The ratio of pro gram patients had increased and the month of May showed that 31% of the patients admitted were participants of the Medicare or Medicaid programs, according to the statistics released by G. R.
