June 20th at St. Paul’s Episco
pal Church in Macon.
Miss Weems is the grand
daughter of Mrs. Horace Eugene
Weems, Sr. and the late Mr.
Weems of Macon and Mr. Sam
uel Wilson Scott and the late
Ruth Woodward Scott of Beech
Island, S.C.

Sogadera Club Ends
Activities For Summer
The Sogadera Club has
ended its first three months
of activities and disbanded
for the summer months to
ready for greater partici
pation beginning in Septem
ber.
The month of May was al
most completely devoted to
fund raising projects, the

shower Tuesday evening at
the home of Mrs. Joe Roper

Jimmy Dorsetl serving as
joint hostess.
The honoree wearing a
red, white, and blue dress
and accessories was given a
white corsage. The hostesses
also presented her with an
engraved silver cake knife.
The guests were entertain
ed during the evening by
playing bridal games.

Baptist featured inspiring talks
by Mrs. Russell Hilliard, mis
sionary to Spain who is on fur
lough visiting in Ft. Valiey and
her daughter. Rose Hilliard,
who gave a teen ager’r \ie.v
of life in the mission field of
Spain. The speakers were in
troduced by Mrs. Dan Nelson
at the Wednesday afternoon
meeting.
Saturday was filed with the
excitement of a day at Six
Flags for the 50 girls accom
panied by Mrs. Julian Cawthon,
GA director, and Mrs, Don
Parkinson.
The week of Focus was
brought to a close at the Sun
day morning service as the GA
group received special recogni
tion and worshipped together

joints are solid and tight. Chairs
with upholstered seats are easier
to cover if you can remove the
