Miss Hackney is a student at Perry Senior High School where she is a member of FNA, Alpha Beta and the Glee Club. The future bridegroom is the brother of LaVaughn Thompson of Savannah. He was graduated from Robert W. Groves High School in Savannah where he served as a member of the student council. He is a member of the Air National Guard and is employed by Savannah Electric Co. A color scheme of pink and white was carried out in sev eral flower arrangements throughout the room. A feathered-mum corsage was pinned on Miss Cars well upon her arrival. “How well do you know the bride” and “Drawing the Bride” games were played. A 20-gal. plastic container, the hostesses gift, was filled with misce 11 ane ou s gifts brought by the 24 guests to the party, and was presented to the bride-to-be. After writing a word of advice, or a hint, or a recipe to the bride, guests were served a delicious sweet heart salad plate with cheese-and-olive balls, nuts, mints and fruit punch, with a miniature wedding bell de corated with a clip-on-bow as a favor. Presbyterians Set Bible School Date The Perry Presbyterian Church will begin their Va cation Bible School Monday, June 8 to continue through Friday, June 12 under the di rection of Mrs. Jack Ellis Jr. assisted by Mrs. Worth Bry ant. Teachers will be Pre-Kin-i dergarten, Mrs. James Fudge, Mrs. Gordon Scar borough; Kindergarten, Mrs. Mark Gutzke, Mrs. Dave Larimer, Mrs. George Tay lor Jr., Mrs. George West moreland; Primary, Mrs. A. J. Bennett, Mrs. Kyle Ar nold, Mrs. Larry Sandefur; Middlers, Mrs. Lee Stone, i Mrs. J. R. Arnall, Mrs. A1 Lasseter; Juniors, Mrs. A. J. Adams, Mrs. Bill Hunt, Mrs. Byron Maxwell. Lieutenant Lister was graduated from Columbus High School, Columbus, Ind. and the U. S. Naval Acade my, Annapolis, Md. Commis sioned in the U. S. Marine Corps, he served thirteen months in Viet Nam and is presently assigned to the U. S. Naval Base, Pearl Har- , bor. her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Duggan. For the 218 students who will re ceive diplomas Thursday, (tonight), there are as many different ways of life opened to them and as many pieces of advice that could be given. Pattie Ann Pryor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pryor, is a member of this class and this week received a letter from Sister Theresa Kearney who taught ■ her in the third and six grades. She shared the letter with me and 1 in turn would like to pass on parts of it to you. It doesn’t matter whether we learn from a third grade child, a college professor, or a book. We must still rejoice about the learning.” Another paragraph goes like this ‘‘l pray you will just stay good! And this is a very dif ficult thing to do nowadays when, let’s face it, you can hardly find two priest or two sisters or - -for that matter - - sometimes even two parents who agree upon what good means.” The final words in Sister Therese’s letter were Love, Live, Beleive, and Hope.
