She made the Dean’s List and also received a schol arship toward furthering her education. At the fall term Miss Ford will enter the University of Georgia, Athens. Annette has been employed by the Georgia Board of Education for the past three years and will continue her employment with the board in Athens. Servicemen USS WILLIAM V. PRATT Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Patrick H. Stone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Stone of Route 1, Bonaire, returned to Mayport, Fla., aboard the guid ed missile frigate USS William V. Pratt after participating in Operation Poopdeck off the coast of Spain. It was a joint U. S.-Spanish exercise. While Spanish forces conducted simulated strikes a gainst a U. S. carrier task group, the William V. Pratt tested its dual anti-air/anti submarine warfare capabilities by protecting the aircraft car rier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, WEDDiNGTON RECEIVES M. D. DEGREE JUNE 8 William W. After enjoying a delicious meal, out going president Mrs. Kenneth Abney welcomed the six new members into the club and ex pressed appreciation to all of her officers for the past year. She then handed over the gavel to the new president, Mrs. Lar ry Sandefur. The club members presented Mrs. Abney with a pair of sil ver candlesticks for her fine job as president, and Mrs. Bob by Grizzard was presented with a gold initial pin as a going-- away gift. Mrs. Grizzard also won the door prize, a cake in the shape of an artist’s palette. During the meeting each member learned the edentily of her secret sister for the year. Presbyterians Have 268 In Bible School Closing exercises for a week of Vacation Bible School were held at the Per ry Presbyterian Church Sun day, June 14. An enrollment of 268 for the week was an nounced by Mrs. Jack Eljis Jr., director. The offering for the week will be used to aid in the construction of a Bible School in a foreign country.
