Local Doctor Elected For Blood Program Dr. Dan Callahan, Warner Robins physician, has been elected chairman of the ex ecutive committee for the At lanta Regional Red Cross Blood Program at the committee's annual meeting in Atlanta. The announcement was made by El bert G. Shaw Jr., outgoing committee chairman. Currently serving as blood program co-chairman for War ner Robins, Dr. Callahan takes over his new position on July I, 1970. The committee is com posed of volunteers from throughout the 40 county area served by the Atlanta Regional Red Cross Blood Program, The function of the executive com mittee is to advise and guide Red Cross officials in carrying out the blood program A native of Taylor County, Dr. Callahan served in the past as president and chairman of the board of the Warner Robins Community Chest and is cur rently a member of the board of directors of the Houston County United Givers Fund. He is also president and chairman of the board for the Houston County Association for Except ional (retarded) Children and a member of the board of trus tees for the Macon Junior Col lege F'oundalion. Dr. Callahan received the Award of Hunoani tarian Service for Project Viet nam in 1988 and the Award for Community Service from WRA MA Command in 1969. j^OLLEG^APfiRSj Carolyn Dixon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius King of 1113 Broad St., Perry, received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark College, Atlanta, on June 1. She is now employed with the Department of Family and Childrens Services of At lanta. • * * Michael Vann Roberts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Roberts Jr, of 1315 Spring St., Perry, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse Col lege. Atlanta, on June. 2. Ho is now employed as a staff ac countant with Fouche Ross and Co., St. Louis, Mo. * * « Harry Gordon Bailey of Per ry earned a 3.7 grade average for the Spring Quarter which has just ended at Macon Junior College. • * * Perry students having a 3.0 average for the Spring Quarter at Macon Junior College are Brenda Oldham, Linda Oldham I and Susan Thomason. * * • JACKSON, MISS.-Two Per ry students Ivave been named to the Dean's List at Belltaven College for the second semes ter. They are Elise ami Elaine Gulzke, daughters of Mr. and Mrs, M. E. Gutzke of 813 I-aw son Dr. Requirements for selection to the academic list are a quality point index! of not less than 3.40 and no grade below "C". Belhaven, in Jackson, is a four-year, coeducational college of liberal arts and sciences, owned by the Synod of Mississ ippi, Presbyterian Church, U.S. STATESBORO-Three Georgia Southern College students who are residents of the Houston County area have been named to the 1970 Spring Quarter Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List a student must have at least a 3.3 grade point average for the quarter. The following students have made the Dean's List; James Anderson Fountain, a freshman had a 3.33 grade point average. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Fountain, Per ry. Gregory James Leonard, a senior Political Science major bad a 3.66 grade point average. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Leonard, of Perry.
