BARRY CLEMENT MILLER Carswell-Miller Rites Solemnized The First Baptist Church of Perry was the scene of the marriage of Miss Elaine Alice Carswell and Barry Clement Miller of Galva, 111 inois at 3 p. m., Sunday, June 14. The Rev. Dan Hodges per formed the double ring cere mony before a background of emerald palms centered with an arrangement of white gladioli and chrysan themums. Candelabra hold ing white tapers completed the altar decorations. Mrs. Rmmit Akin, organ ist, presented a program of nuptial music and accom panied Mrs. Robert Brooks * as she sang. The bride given in mar riage by Dewey Nolan VVhid don, wore the floor length gown of Mrs. Julian Cawth on. Fashioned in white man tilla lace over satin with an Insert of lace at the waist featuring tiny satin buttons. Her finger tip veil of illu sion fell from a princess crown of seed pearls. She carried a while orchid cen tered on a white pearl Bible, a gift from her aunt, Mrs. William H. Bush. Mrs. Charles Bobe of Statesboro was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mis-s Alycen Whidden of Perry, Mrs. Malcolm Green of Macon, Miss Shirley Cas tie of Tallahassee, Fla., and MISS SANDRA GRACE HAIR Miss Hair Tells Os Wedding Plans Mr. and Mrs. Charlie E. Hair of Perry announce the engagement of their daugh ter, Sandra Grace, to SP/5 James David Argo of Rober ta, son of Mrs. Velma Bur gess of Royston and Mr. J. C. Argo of Roberta. The bride-elect is a 1970 graduate of Perry High Miss Janice Moss of Atlanta. They were attired in floor length dresses of old fash ioned pink dotted swiss. They wore picture hats of pink satin edged with horse hair braid, and carried white baskets filled with varigated shades of pink carnations. Little Miss Kay Blood worth was flower girl. She was dressed in white eyelet with a pink satin bow. She wore a pink satin bow in her hair and carried a small bas ket of flowers. Alex Whid don was ring bearer. Mrs. Whiddon, cousin of the bride, chose for the oc eassion a jade green silk dress with matching acces sories. The groom’s mother, Mrs, Berdinc Miller, was at tired in a powder blue knit dress and matching access ories. Each wore a corsage of white feathered mums. After the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Whiddon entertain ed at a reception in the so cial hall of the church. Guests were greeted by Mrs. Julian Cawthon and pre sented to the receiving line composed of the wedding party. The tiered cake rested on a table covered with pink taf feta overlaid with white or gandy, The cake was topped with wedding bells. Little Miss Terri Bloodworth distributed rice bags to the guests. For her wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn„ the bride changed into a green and white knit suit with white accessories and the orchid lifted from her bridal bou quet. The couple will make their home in Atlanta. Brides Aids' Luncheon Miss Carswell and her wed ding attendants were honor ed with a luncheon at the home of Mrs. Raymond Gorn to on Northside Road. Assist ing Mrs. Gornto were her daughters, Misses Sherry and Janet Gornto. The dining table was ad orned with an arrangement of yellow and white daisies and snapdragons. Minature bridal bouquets marked the seating arrangement for the guests. The bride-elect presented gold broach pins to her at tendants. The hostess pre sented Miss Carswell a cry stal bud vase. Rehearsal Dinner Mrs. Curtis Riner, Mrs. Julian Cawthon, Mrs. Billy Bledsoe, and Mrs. Don Park inson entertained the wed ding party and other guests at a* rehearsal dinner, Sat urday evening, June 13 at the Ochlahatchce Club House. Parties Other parties given for Miss Carswell prior to her wedding were a miscellan eous shower given by Mrs. Charles Bobe at her home in Statesboro. Mrs. C. M. Daniel, Mrs. W. W. Rush and Mrs. Malcolm Green were hostesses for a miscellaneous shower at Mrs. Daniel’s home on May 30. Mrs. Stewart Bloodworth. Mrs. Herbert St. John, Mrs. Albert Darnell. Mrs. Frank Leonard and Mrs. Malcolm Reese entertained at a morn ing coffee on Saturday. May 23 at Mrs. Bloodworth’s home on Pine Needle Drive. Jonathan Edward, on June 12. Grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Lamberth of Perry and Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Bel cher of Elko. The Belchers have one other son, Chuckie, age 24. Mr. and Mrs. Millard Al britton announce the birth of a son, Russell Todd, on June 22 at Houston County Hospital. Singletary all formerly of Moultrie. Mr. Simpson is a graduate Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Mart in and Tamara of Warner Robins spent last week with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Grimes in Perry, and left Saturday for Bankok, Thail and, where they live for the next two years. ♦ ♦ * Mr. and Mrs. Ed Willis spent last week in Atlanta attending the 18th annual meeting of the Georgia Nur sing Home Assn. On Friday uated from Unadilla High School and attended Valdos ta State College where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. She is presently at tending Georgia Southwest ern College in Americus where she will be a senior in the fall.. The prospective groom was graduated from Unadilla High School and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricul tural College. He has served a tour of duty with the Air National Guard and is pres ently engaged in farming in Unadilla. KENNETH MARTIN STEFANINI Dayton-Stefanini Rites Solemnized The wedding ceremony un iting Miss Jerri Deborah Dayton and Kenneth Martin Stefanini was held at 3 p. m., Sunday, June 21 at the Perry Presbyterian Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Paul Dayton. The parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Hu bert Joseph Stefanini. The Rev. Mark Gutzke of ficiated at the double ring rites. The couple stood be fore the altar decorated with candelabra, palms and bas kets of white gladioli. Miss Patsy Bynum, organist, and Tommy Storey, soloist, pre sented a program of nuptial music. Dan Jacobs of Cleveland, Tenn. served as best man. Stuart Stefanini, brother of the groom, Tom Leonard and Greg Leonard were ushers. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Patti Dayton as maid of honor. Brides maids were Miss Betty Webb of Macon, Mrs. Ronald Lock erman of Montezuma and Mrs. Karen Manry of Ameri cus. The attendants were gown ed in identical dresses of apricot taffeta overlaid with chiffon. Matching lace cov ered the bodice, neckline, and the wrist of the long full sleeves. Their head pieces were short apricot veils which fell from satin bows. They carried cascades of yellow carnations and apr icot rosebuds. Little Miss Terri Sandefur was flower girl. She was dressed in a apricot gown similar to those worn by the bridesmaids. She carried a basket of yellow carnations and apricot rosebuds. Escorted down the aisle by her father who gave her in marriage, the bride was lovely in a bridal gown of white silk organza and lace. It was fashioned with an em pire bodice and short sleeves of lace. Seed pearls trimmed the appliques of lace on the hemline. Her fingertip veil was attached to a bow embroidered with seed pearls. She carried a cascade of white rosebuds centered with a white or chid. For her daughter’s wed ding, Mrs. Dayton was at tired in a green embroidered silk organza dress with a matching coat. She used matching accessories and had a green cymbidium orchid. The groom’s mother, Mrs. Stefanini, wore an aqua silk shantung with matching ac cessories. A white orchid corsage completed her at tire. The reception was held in the church fellowship hall Parties Honor Mrs Watkins Parties honoring Mrs. Wat kins prior to her marriage on Saturday included a lun cheon on June 4 at the Nev' Perry Hotel with Mrs. D. P. Hulbert, Mrs. Stewart Rich ardson and Mrs, Randolph Brewster as hostesses. Ar rangements of magnolia a dorned the table at which the fourteen guests were seated. The hostesses’ gift to the honoree was a wood and ceramic cutting and ser ving board. A luncheon on June 6 at the New Perry Hotel was given by Mrs. Truman Clif ton of Macon, the godmother of Gale and her father, Dr. Eugene Weems. An arrange ment of pink and white mix ed flowers graced the lunch eon table at which places were marked for fourteen guests. Mrs. Clifton’s gift to Jhe honoree was place mats and napkins and tea towels. following the ceremony. The serving tables wore covered with white cloths overlaid with lace and dec orated with arrangements of white snapdragons and cand les. The tiered wedding cake was topped with white doves and embossed with white or chids, rosebuds and grapes. Punch was served from a flowing fountain. Mrs. Bobby Grizzard of Forsyth and Mrs. Chuch Scott of Perry cut the cake. Mrs. Paul Griffin kept the bride’s book. Others assist ing in serving were Miss Judy Dayton of Albany, Miss Beth Feely of Atlanta, Miss Nadine Stefanini and Miss Linda Rodgers of Perry. Little Miss Terri Dayton and little Miss Kelly Griffin were rice girls. They were dressed alike in floor length yellow organdy embroidered with daisies. For traveling to Florida, the bride wore an apricot and beige dress with match ing long sleeve coat, beige accessories and the orchid lifted from her bridal bou quet. The couple will make their home at Georgian Ap artments D-l, Rome. Among the out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Bowen, Miss Sylvia Bowen and Miss Dottie Bow en of Havanna, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Jernigan, Miss Katherine Barnett and Miss Ivey Barnett of Newnan; Mr. and Mrs, John Cromwell, Vicki, Connie, Mike, and Todd Cromwell of Paducah, Kentucky; Mr. and Mrs. W. L. The bride presented silver bud vases to her attendants. Mrs. Grif fin’s gift to the honoree was a corning ware coffee pot. Covers were laid for four teen. The out of town guests included Mrs. Karen Manry of Americus, Mrs. Ron Lock erman of Montezuma, Miss Betty Webb of Macon, Mrs. Marie Stefanini and Miss Irma Stefanini of Chicago, 111. The wedding party was en tertained at a rehearsal din ner given by the groom’s parents Saturday night at the Holiday Inn. The twenty seven gues-ts included the parents, members of the wedding party and friends. The Smith home on Jewel Drive was the setting for a luncheon on June 13 with Mrs. T. E. Smith and Mrs. C. E. Graham as hostesses. Fifteen guests were seated at tables with individual ar rangements of white mums. The hostesses’ gift to the honoree was her wedding in vitation in a silver frame.
