DAN ALLEN WADE Barton-Wade Rites Solemnized The wedding of Miss Pa tricia Runee Barton and Dan Allen Wade was held at 7 p. m. May 29, 1970 at the Perry Presbyterian Church. The bride is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Barton Jr. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Mack C. Wade of Warner Robins. The Rev. Mark Gutzke of ficiated at the double ring ceremony with Mrs. Bert Brumbaugh as organist, and Mrs. Robert Brooks, soloist. The church was decorated with candelabra, palms and baskets of white gladioli. The groom’s father stood with him as best man. Ush ers were Stanley Sams of Warner Robins and Frank Barton of Perry, brother of the bride. Mrs. Stanley Sams of War ner Robins attended the bride as matron of honor. Miss Patricia Wade of War ner Robins', sister of the groom, was junior brides maid. They wore dresses of yellow dotted swiss with em pire waistlines and puffed sleeves. Their headpieces were of yellow illusion and they carried nosegay of white daisies. Entering the sanctuary on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage, the bride wore a full length gown of pcau de soie, feat uring an empire waist, bod ice and sleeves of Alencon lace. Her veil of illusion was caught to tiny satin roses. She carried a bouquet of lil lies of the valley and step anotis centered with a white orchid arranged on a white lace prayer book. The mother of the bride wore a pink crepe dress and matching accessories. The groom’s mother was attired in an aqua lace dress with full length coat. The four tiered wedding cake trimmed with wedding bells and topped with minia ture bride and groom, cen tered the table overlaid with yellow. Mrs. Frank Ramsdell, Jr. of Marietta cut the cake. Mrs. Bill Anderson and Miss Jan Floyd served punch. Miss Brenda Buckner kept the bride’s book. For the wedding trip to Jekyll Island, the bride cha nged to a navy blue crepe dress with navy and white accessories and her corsage was the orchid lifted from her bouquet. They will re side in Warner Robins. Out of town guests includ ed Mrs. Arthur Lane, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Lane, Mr. and Mrs. T. C.> Smith Jr., Miss Ruth Marlow, Bobby Cason and Miss Jan Floyd of War ner Robins; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Anderson of Hawkins ville; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ramsdell Jr., Mrs. H. J. Hunt, of Marietta: John W. Barton Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Peavy, Mr. and Mrs. George S. Peavy of Cordele; John B. Dennard, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cummings, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Bridges Sr., of Pineview. Mr. and Mrs. Mack C. Wade entertained the Bar ton-Wade wedding party with a rehearsal dinner Thursday evening at the New Perry Hotel. Covers were laid for twenty. Among the pre-nuptial parties honoring Miss Bar ton, bride-elect were a mis cellaneous shower given by Mrs. K. R. Vance and Mrs. Howard Cosey at the Vance home on May 15. Eighteen friends of the honoree were present. The hostesses’ gift was pieces of her china. On May 16, Mrs. Jarrett Thomason-George Wedding Is Held Miss Barbara Susan Thom ason, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Thomason, and Robert Coleman George, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip M. George of Macon, were married June 11 at Perry United Methodist Church. The Rev. J. B. Smith offi ciated. The bride’s sister, Miss Elizabeth Ann Thomason, was maid of honor. Best man was Patrick Allan Lace field. Worrall and Fran have re turned from two weeks in the New England States vis iting points of interest in Williamsburg and James town, Va., Philadelphia, Pa., Atlantic City, N. J., New Nelson and Mrs. Joe Batch lor were hostesses for a mis cellaneous shower honoring Miss Barton at Mrs. Nelson’s home on Houston Lake road. The Ochlahatchee Club House was the scene of a party honoring Miss Barton on May 23. Hostesses were Mrs. Jimmy Abrams, Mrs. Christie Matthews, Mrs. Ray Matthews and Mrs. Larry Matthews. They presented Miss Barton a silver butter dish and a towel set. man women, the honors pro gram, and was in the top five per cent of her class in the Henry W. Grady School of Journalism. She also attend ed Macon Junior College where she was associate edi tor of Premiere, the student newspaper. The groom, graduate of Lanier High School in Ma con, served four years in the U. S. Navy as a communica tions technician. He attend ed Macon Junior College where he was business man ager for the Premiere. MRS. HENRY DOUGLAS LEE Lamb-Lee Vows Spoken Miss Lois Dianne Lamb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles D, Lamb, Sr. of Fer ry and Henry Douglas Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Lee of Ferry were married at 2:30 p. m., June 14 at the Perry Church of God with the jiev. J. E. Thornton of ficiating. Mrs. Hawkins, pia nist, and Ernest Barker, so loist, provided a program of wedding music. The church was decorated with greenery, candelabra, and an altar ar rangement of white gladioli. S. J. Lee served his son as best man and ushers were Charles D. Lamb, Jr,, broth er of the bride, and Ashley Allen both of Perry and Bucky Hawkins of Athens. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a for mal gown of white lace over satin, fashioned with snort sleeves, full skirt and round ed neckline appliqued with seed pearls and irridescents. Her fingertip veil of illusion fell from a crown of seed pearls. Her bouquet was of white rosebuds centered with a white orchid. Miss Lenny Cone of Fer ry was maid of honor. Brides maids were Mrs. Fatsy Allen, the bride’s sister, and Miss Marsha Green of Perry and Mrs. Gloria Bullington of Al bany. They were dressed in ■* Ink Ragan-Bryant Engagement Told Mr. and Mrs. William Leon Hagan Sr. of Henderson an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Fa rise Beth to Archie Crady Bryant son of Mrs. E. B. Bryant and the late Mr. Bryant of Una dilla. The bride-elect is the grand daughter of Mrs. John Ing ram Ragan and the late Mr. Ragan of Henderson. Her maternal grandparents are the late Mrs. Mae Brannen Calhoun and the late Mr. John Henry Brannen of Una dilla. Miss Ragan is a 1967 graduate of Perry High School and is presently em ployed by the Clerk of Su gowns of pastel shades fash ioned alike with matching hairpieces. They carried bou quets of mixed flowers. Little Miss Lisa Cason of Ferry was flower girl. She wore a full length white gown with emboidered dais ies, and carried a basket of red flowers. Sid Flanagan, Jr. of Macon, cousin of the bride was ring bearer. For her daughter’s wed ding. Mrs. Lamb was attired in a long sleeve pink crepe dress with matching acces sories. Mrs. Lee, mother of the groom, chose a pink dress with lace cape and white accessories. Each wore a corsage of pink carnations. Following the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Lamb enter tained at a reception at their home. The bride’s table was laid with a white lace cloth, was centered with the three tier ed wedding cake topped with a minature bride and groom. Miss Cynthia Strouder of Al bany cut the cake. Miss Lawanajon Flanagan of Albany kept the bride's book Misses Shelia and Deb ra McDonald of Albany as sisted in serving and enter taining. After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple will be at home at 1103 East Tolle son. pcrior Court in Perry. The prospective bride groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Solo mon G. Bryant and Mr. Ar chie Martin Turner and the late Mrs. Turner of Byrom ville. Mr. Bryant graduated from Unadilla High School in 1966 and is now employed by Blue Bird Body Company in Fort Valley. The wedding is planned for August 22, at 7:00 o’clock in the evening at the Hend erson Baptist Church. No in vitations are being sent, but all relatives and friends of the couple are cordially in vited. J^OUIEG^CAPERSJ AUGUSTA Two resi dents of the Perry area took part in an important musical events sponsored by the Paine College Choir during the past academic session. Willie Ross, a member of the freshman class, and Miss Carrie Kendrick, a member of the sophomore class, trav elled with the Paine Choir not only on its spring concert tour but also sang with the Choir during the Centennial Celebration of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Memphis in May. Miss Kendrick is the dau ghter of Mrs. Carrie Mae Kendrick of Route 1, Elko. Ross is the son of Mrs. Rob erta Green of 619 Poplar Street, Perry. He has now attain ed the Dean’s List each of the three quarters. He re ceived recognition on Hon ors Day for his scholastic achievement. He has been elected treasurer for 1970-71 of Phi Theta Kappa, a nat ional scholastic fraternity.
