Our rights-of-way often serve as
nurseries for families of quail.
Almost any hearty cover crop can give game natural
refuge. It also provides food for quail, doves, ducks, deer
and rabbits.
That’s why Georgia Power encourages landowners to
make use of our 130,000 acres of rights-of-way. We'll
help pay the costs of one-time preparation and planting.
The seeding may be to such as lespedeza, fescue, or
millet, oats, rye, wheat, corn.
Georgia Power Company believes in dedicating these
rights-of-way to conservation uses. Doing so aids the
state in its efforts to feed and shelter wildlife.
Throughout its history our Company has worked
hard at conservation. And if feeding the birds will help,
count us in— 130,000 acres’ worth! If you want to par
ticipate in this program, call the nearest Georgia Power
office for details.
